UPDATE: London ESF Arrest

UPDATE OF THOSE ARRESTED & CHARGED AT THE LONDON ESF, OCTOBER 2004.

Of the 3 people still charged with offences durng the London ESF:

1. assaulting police (Section 89(1) Police Act 1996)
Trial: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 11th 2005
Bow Street Magistrates Court, 28 Bow Street, London WC2E 7AS (nearest tube: Covent Garden) 10am start

An Italian man was arrested outisde King's Cross station on sunday afternoon on his way to the ESF demonstration in Trafalgar Square. He along with 20 others were surrounded by police at King's Cross where they were attcaked & beaten & held for some time.


2. Threatening words & behaviour (Section 4 Public Order Act 1986)
Trial: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 25th 2005
Bow Street magistrates Court, 28 Bow Street, London WC2E 7AS (nearest tube: Covent Garden) 2pm start

A man was arrested during the speeches at the final ESF demonstration at Trafalgar Square. He attempted to gain access to the stage to inform those present of the police repression earlier at King's Cross. Police were called & he, along with another man, were arrested.

3. Theft (Section 1 Theft Act 1968)
Trial: MONDAY, 11th July 2005.
Southwark Crown Court, 1 English Grounds (off Battlebridge Lane) Southwark, London SE1 2HU (nearest tube: London Bridge)
10am start

A man was arrested on Saturday evening outisde Alexandra Palace as a line of riot police attacked a crowd of people as they walked back to Middlesex university. He was originally charged with assault & threatening words & behaviour, both were dropped due to lack of evidence. The theft charge relates to stealing police helmet (!)
