Part of "A Night Against the War" -- an event organized by singer-songwriter Stephan Smith, Amy Hufnagel and others as a pilot for a nationwide anti-war tour.

Former Marine Staff Sergeant Jimmy Massey, honorably discharged after 12 years of service, reads from his upcoming memoir, "Cowboys from Hell."

In this excerpt, Sgt. Massey recounts an incident at the Rashid camp, a large military compound in southern Baghdad. Massey entered Iraq as part of the initial American invasion in March 2003 and was witness, and in some cases took part in, the killing of innocent civilians.
