Who else ?

I see the speakers listed are known to have a pro-Palestinian bias. In the interests of balance and fairness which other speakers have you invited who will be able to give the Israeli viewpoint ?

Hear ! Hear !

Quite right Sir !

How dare that student demand fairness and equality !

These meetings are not about such things, they are events for us, the educated and informed ones. The ones who know the truth about Palestine and the Jewish control of it.

We don't want our views challenged by hearing any opposing or contradictory ones, we want our views reinforced and agreed with.

...that's like inviting Harold Shipman to a memorial for his vivtims, out of a sense of fairness and balance.

I'm sure that people who disagree with the speakers will be able to make comments from the floor during the discussion section

Anti-semitism doesn't go away it just changes!

Anti-semitism doesn't go away it just changes. Now instead of people being openly anti-semitic they say that they are anti-zionist. But the two are one and the same thing in reality. This is because Israel is criticsed for defending itself in legitimate acts of self defence. No other country has ever been criticsed for carrying out legitmate actsof self defence. Except perhaps America when it fought back after being attack on September the 11th 2001. But then the left only reserve the right of self defence to Third World countries don't they.

Political Balance?

08.02.2005 11:26

Why on Earth would a public meeting have to give the oppositions view? Does the Labour party have to allow a Tory speaker at their meetings? Why should Palestinian activists have to give pro-Israeli speakers even more coverage?

To "student", all i can say is - that's bullshit and you don't even know.

What's the point

08.02.2005 16:11

Whats the point of bringing the israeli side in this? All you need to do is watch the news on tv and ul see it. The point of this is to examine and inform that things arent really as the bbc want you to believe they are. Everytime someone blows himself up in israel its on the new, the hundreds of Palestinians that died before this arent on the news. So we decide to show the other side, teh side of Israeli oppression, murder, and expansion. Michael is so well informed aof whats legitimate and whats not. Why not try to read bout how many UN resolutions Israel has broken since its formation, by expanding into other territories, murdering innocent civilians, leaving thousands of people homeless. No wait I take it back, 12 year olds with stones are potentially dangerous, they must be stoped. Nice one Fascist, Hail Hitler and all that crap you believe Michael, wel be seen u in the 4th Reich, whichl probably be Israel in a few decades.

Strawman or what?

Every pro-Israel rally automatically includes a pro-Palestinian speaker, to ensure that a balanced view is given to the audience.

Yes or no?

Perhaps these zionists are really trying to shut down discussion, rather than open it up. And, I'm sure there'll be at least one pro-Israeli reading out questions that have been written in advance. Maybe somthing along the lines of;

"Do the panel think it fair not to have mentioned the considerable achievements of the only democracy in the Middle East?" ..............
