CIVIL LIBERTIES UNDER THREAT: HOW THE WAR ON TERROR IS A WAR ON OUR FREEDOMS

Oxford Stop the War Coalition invites you to a public meeting:

CIVIL LIBERTIES UNDER THREAT - HOW THE WAR ON TERROR IS A WAR ON OUR FREEDOMS

Date: Thursday 10 February,

Time: 7.30pm

Place: The Court Room, Oxford Town Hall

Speaker: James Welch

We are lucky to have an excellent speaker for this meeting. James Welch, the Legal Director of the civil rights organisation Liberty. James will address the meeting and lead a discussion on the continuous decline of our freedoms since the start of the "war on terror". These will include the Terrorism Act and the illegal detentions at Belmarsh, as well as the Home Secretary's latest scheme for placing people under house arrest without charge or trial.

Please come along to the meeting and publicise it widely.
