MAELSTROM - THE END?

mae l strom | 03.02.2005 13:28 | Analysis | Free Spaces | Repression

Maelstrom has been given it's court papers after 3 months

Maelstrom received it's papers this week and our court date is Friday 03 Feb.
Maelstrom has been in existence for over 3 months, which is pretty damn long for a squatted social centre in leeds! we've had various events; from film showings, country music nights, pirate bingo to a weekly reading group, workshops on nanotechnology, road protests, new repressive laws, mental illness, CCTV plus semi regular dinners and visits from the police.

on tuesday 8th at 5.30 we will be discussing the eviction and what next. bring a dish to share (plus a litre or two of water as we've been cut off for a while!).

we don't know how long we'll get to stay so watch this space for events still happening or events cancelled.

THE JAN SVANKMAYER (surrealist films, food and games) night is STILL ON. that's friday 4th at about 7.

see you at the front!
for the wild, in love and rage,
mae.x

Adjourned

07.02.2005 14:10

We went to court and it's been ajourned for two weeks.
The Surrealist film nite was packed and went really well.
If you haven't been down to Maelstrom yet, then make the effort while we're still here.
