MAY 5 – 8
We are inviting applications from aspiring singers with artistry and talent, who wish to improve their vocal technique and study oratorio, opera and German romantic Lied repertoire.
The master classes will address the singers individual requirements i.e., stage poise, audition preparations, vocal and breathing techniques and professional contacts.
A concluding concert will be presented to the Berlin public during the XX. Black International Cinema Berlin 2005, May 5 - 8. The master classes and concert will be conducted by Prof. Norma Sharp and Ms. Nena Brzakovic.
MAY VOICES IN BERLIN 2005 participants, ages 16 – 35, will be selected on a basis of submitted tapes or CD's. Please mail the audition materials to Prof. Norma Sharp, Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“, Charlottenstr. 55, 10117 Berlin/Germany, by March 15, 2005.
Please include name, address and age information.
Those invited artists will engage in 5 hour daily classes with Prof. Norma Sharp and Ms. Nena Brzakovic.
Participating artists will be required to pay a fee of 250,00 Euros for master classes and concert.
For those wishing to monitor/observe classes, the fee is 125,00 Euros.
The daily class observation fee is 30,00 Euros.

Wir freuen uns über Bewerbungen von aufstrebenden SängerInnen mit künstlerischer Begabung und Talent, die sich wünschen, ihre stimmliche Technik zu verbessern und Oratorium, Oper und das deutsche romantische Liedrepertoire zu studieren. Die Meisterklassen werden die individuellen Anforderungen der SängerInnen berücksichtigen, d.h., Bühnenpräsenz, Vorbereitung für das Vorsingen, Stimm- und Atemtechnik und die Bereitstellung von professionellen Kontakten.
Ein Abschlusskonzert wird der Berliner Öffentlichkeit während des XX. Black International Cinema Berlin 2005, 5.-8. Mai, präsentiert. Die Meisterklassen und das Konzert werden von Prof. Norma Sharp und Frau Nena Brzakovic geleitet.
Die TeilnehmerInnen an MAI STIMMEN IN BERLIN 2005, im Alter von 16 – 35 Jahren, werden auf der Basis von eingereichten Cassetten oder CDs ausgewählt. Bitte schicken Sie die Bewerbungsunterlagen bis zum 15. März 2005 zu Prof. Norma Sharp, Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“, Charlottenstr. 55, 10117 Berlin/Deutschland. Grownupism!
1 Day, When I Grow Up!
So, as usual, I wuz sittin' an' stinkin' 'bout Xmas an' Neeu Yeer's an' holi–dayz away frum the dungeon skool an' the dragon teecher.
Man! While I'm relaxin', she's probably dreamin' up all kinds of torture for us kidz to face when vakation is over! The dragon's a genius for commin' up with projects to keep peeple workin' day an' nite an' konstantly under pressure!
Wow! Peeple talk 'bout grownups havin' nervus breakdowns frum stress; whut 'bout us kidz? We gotta do Niagara Falls homework an' plus, be good all the time!
That's alot to do an' stink 'bout!
So, as usual, the dragon teecher culdn't jes let us go home for the holi–dayz without a crown of thorns on our heds.
I lerned 'bout this in church an' I knew it wuld cum in handy 1 day!
I'm gittin' smarter with words!
Anywho, the dragon gave all us slave students, sum holi–day homework an' we have to turn it in when we go back to skool!
First thing when we walk in the door, the dragon teecher is waitin' for all of us!
Whew!
O.K.,so we gotta write 'bout the 'lektion an' Iraq an' stuff an' ol' Stetson Hat's next four yeers "in space", as my Father sez, but the dragon teecher sed, "in office"!
But anywho, I meen, who wants to do homework on their holi–dayz?
Alright already, we got no choice; either we git it at skool or/an' at home, if we mess up!
No Way Out!! Do or die!
As alwayz, there's gotta be a way out!?
So, as usual, I jes ask Papa an' Granma wut they think 'bout all this politics stuff!?
Mama kinda rolls her eyez, makes a deep breathin' noise an' does sumthin' around the house, probably till the diskussins over.
Mama's smart!
My Father sez, ol' Stetson Hat an' his boyz, "good an' decent" Runningfield, Scheney, Wolfmowitz, George Tennis, Soul Brener, along with good ol’ Candi Rice, made a reel mess of ev’rythin' from Iraq to the budget to taxes to playin' comedian with the truth 'bout all their charades!
Runningfield tried to pretend ev’rythin' was O.K. in Kuwait, but a soldier shot him down with a truth ol' "Good an' Decent" didn't want to hear an' certainly didn't want peeple to know, think or talk 'bout!
As usual, he tried to play John Wayne and only made the Powell Doktrine truer than ever!!
Colin Powell sed, only go for "bad or wars", when you are fully prepared and so Runningfield shuld stop tryin' to make history with unpreparedness, lousy ideas and at sumone else's expense; like life or death expense!
Ol' Stetson Hat is vampin', like a musician playin' the same chords over an' over agin, while tryin' to stink of sumthin' interesting to play or say?
Ol' Stetson Hat gave Tennis a.k.a Tenet, an' Soul Brener, the Prezidential Medal of Freedom for big time do–do's, but 'specially for their "loyalty" to the nonsense stumblings of the newly re'leked Prez. an' I don't meen Lester Young!
Ol' Scheney an' Wolfmowitz are keepin' a low profile, while they try to improve their puppeteer abilities an' retie sum loose strings an’ hope nobody notices.
Candi Rice is movin' into Powell's position an’ this for sure, won't hold much water or fresh air.
So, Amerika an' the Wurl are in for a long hard ride 'cause the driver's seats are occupied with true believers, "enlightened Tsunamis....."
"Nothing really works and mostly devastates!
Plus ol' Stetson claims to speak to a 'higher father', when in fact, he's only looking in the mirror!"
Granma nodded an' sed,
"Amen!"
Mama smiled an' kept on doin' sumthin'?
Papa sed, "I hope I answered your questions and was a little bit helpful?"
I sed, "Thank you, Papa, you are always helpful!"
Now, I jes gotta remember all this stuff an' write it down for the dragon teecher; in my own words, of course!
But first, I need my rest after all this work I did to help my family unnerstan' politics.

Erwachsensein!
Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!
Also, wie üblich war ich am Sitz'n und Stink'n üba Weihnachten und Neujahr und Ferijen, weg von der Kerkerschule und der Drachenlehrerin.
Mann! Während ich mich ausruh', erträumt sie sich wahrscheinlich alle möglichen Arten von Folter für uns Kinder, denen wir ausgesetzt werd'n, wenn die Ferijen vorbei sind!
Der Drachen is' 'n Genie darin, mit Projekten zu kommen, um Leute Tag und Nacht am Arbeit'n zu halt'n und dauernd unter Druck!
Wow! Die Leute red'n üba Erwachsene mit Nervenzusammenbrüchen wegen Stress, was is' mit uns Kindern? Wir müss'n Hausaufgaben mit dem Ausmaß von Niagarafällen mach'n und dazu noch die ganze Zeit gut sein!
Das is' 'ne Menge zu tun und drüba nachzustink'n!
Also, wie üblich konnte uns die Drachenlehrerin nich' einfach nach Haus' in die Ferijen geh'n lass'n ohne 'ne Krone mit Dornen auf unser'n Köpfen.
Das hab' ich inner Kirche gelernt und ich wusste, dass es mir eines Tages nützen würde!
Ich werd' immer besser mit Worten!
Jederfalls hat die Drachenlehrerin uns Sklavenschülern 'n paar Hausaufgaben üba die Ferijen gegeb'n und wir müss'n sie abgeb'n, wenn wir wieder in die Schule geh'n!
Als erstes, wenn wir durch die Tür geh'n, wartet die Drachenlehrein auf uns alle!
Puh!
Okay, also wir soll'n üba die Wahlen schreib'n und den Irak und so'n Zeugs und olle Texashuts nächste vier Jahre "im Vakuum", wie mein Vater sagt, der Drachen sagt aber "im Amt"!
Aber, jederfalls, ich mein', wer will üba die Ferijen Hausaufgaben mach'n?
Schon gut, wir hab'n keine Wahl, entweder wir kriegen's inner Schule oder/und zu Haus', wenn wir Mist bau'n!
Führt kein Weg dran vorbei! Mach's oder stirb!
Wie immer, es muss da einen Ausweg geb'n!?
Also hab' ich, wie üblich, Papa und Oma gefragt, was sie üba diesen ganzen Politikkram denk'n!?
Mama rollt irgendwie mit den Augen, gibt ein tiefes Stöhngeräusch von sich und tut irgendwas im Haus, wahrscheinlich bis die Diskussionen vorüba sind.
Mama is' klug!
Mein Vater sagt, olle Texashut und seine Jungs, "guter und anständiger" Renninsfeld, Scheinie, Wolfundwitz, Schorse Tennis, Soul Brenner, zusammen mit der guten alten Candi Reis hab'n wirklich Mist gebaut vom Irak üba den Haushalt bis zu den Steuern und zu dem Komödienspiel mit der Wahrheit üba ihre Scharaden!
Renninsfeld vasuchte vorzugeb'n, dass alles okay is' in Kuwait, aber ein Soldat hat ihn niedergestreckt mit einer Wahrheit, die olle "Gut und Anständig" nich' hör'n wollte und sicher nich' Leute wiss'n lass'n, drüba nachdenk'n oder red'n lass'n wollte!
Wie üblich, vasuchte er, John Wayne zu spiel'n und machte die Powell Doktrine wahrer als vorher!!
Colin Powell sagte, mach nur das "Schlimme und Kriege", wenn du voll vorbereitet bist, und Renninsfeld sollte also aufhör'n zu vasuch'n, Geschichte zu mach'n mit Unvorbereitetheit, lausigen Ideen und auf jemand anderes Kosten; wie auf Kosten von Leben oder Tod!
Olle Texashut is' am Improvisier'n wie'n Musiker, der die gleichen Akkorde immer und immer wieder spielt, während er vasucht üba irgendwas Interessantes nachzustink'n zum Spiel'n oder Sag'n!
Olle Texashut gab Tennis, auch bekannt als Tenet, und Soul Brenner den Präsidentenorden für Freiheit für übermäßigen Schlamassel, aber besonders für ihre "Loyalität" zu dem Blödsinnsgestolpere von dem neu wieder gewählten Präsi, und ich mein' nich' Lester Young!
Olle Scheinie und Wolfundwitz halten den Ball flach, während sie vasuch'n, ihre Puppenspielerqualitäten zu vabessern und 'n paar lose Fäden wieder zu vaknot'n und hoff'n, dass das niemand merkt.
Candi Reis nimmt Powells Position ein und, dies is' ma' sicher, wird nich' viel Wasser oder frische Luft halten.
So, Amerika und die Welt mach'n sich auf 'ne lange harte Reise, weil die Fahrersitze mit wirklichen Gläubigen besetzt sind, "erleuchtete Tsunamis....."
"Nichts funktioniert wirklich und meistens zerstört es!
Und, olle Texashut gibt vor, zu einem 'höheren Vater' zu sprechen, wobei, tatsächlich guckt er nur in den Spiegel!"
Oma nickte und sagte:
"Amen!"
Mama lächelte und machte weiter irgendwas?
Papa sagte: "Ich hoffe, ich habe deine Fragen beantwortet und war ein bißchen hilfreich?"
Ich sagte: "Danke, Papa, du bist immer hilfreich!"
Jetz' muss ich mir nur noch den ganzen Kram merk'n und für die Drachenlehrerin aufschreib'n; mit meinen eigenen Worten natürlich!
Aber erst brauch' ich meine Ruhe nach dieser ganzen Arbeit, die ich getan hab', um meiner Familie Politik vaständlich zu mach'n.

MAY 5 – 8
We are inviting applications from aspiring singers with artistry and talent, who wish to improve their vocal technique and study oratorio, opera and German romantic Lied repertoire.
The master classes will address the singers individual requirements i.e., stage poise, audition preparations, vocal and breathing techniques and professional contacts.
A concluding concert will be presented to the Berlin public during the XX. Black International Cinema Berlin 2005, May 5 - 8. The master classes and concert will be conducted by Prof. Norma Sharp and Ms. Nena Brzakovic.
MAY VOICES IN BERLIN 2005 participants, ages 16 – 35, will be selected on a basis of submitted tapes or CD's. Please mail the audition materials to Prof. Norma Sharp, Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“, Charlottenstr. 55, 10117 Berlin/Germany, by March 15, 2005.
Please include name, address and age information.
Those invited artists will engage in 5 hour daily classes with Prof. Norma Sharp and Ms. Nena Brzakovic.
Participating artists will be required to pay a fee of 250,00 Euros for master classes and concert.
For those wishing to monitor/observe classes, the fee is 125,00 Euros.
The daily class observation fee is 30,00 Euros.

Wir freuen uns über Bewerbungen von aufstrebenden SängerInnen mit künstlerischer Begabung und Talent, die sich wünschen, ihre stimmliche Technik zu verbessern und Oratorium, Oper und das deutsche romantische Liedrepertoire zu studieren. Die Meisterklassen werden die individuellen Anforderungen der SängerInnen berücksichtigen, d.h., Bühnenpräsenz, Vorbereitung für das Vorsingen, Stimm- und Atemtechnik und die Bereitstellung von professionellen Kontakten.
Ein Abschlusskonzert wird der Berliner Öffentlichkeit während des XX. Black International Cinema Berlin 2005, 5.-8. Mai, präsentiert. Die Meisterklassen und das Konzert werden von Prof. Norma Sharp und Frau Nena Brzakovic geleitet.
Die TeilnehmerInnen an MAI STIMMEN IN BERLIN 2005, im Alter von 16 – 35 Jahren, werden auf der Basis von eingereichten Cassetten oder CDs ausgewählt. Bitte schicken Sie die Bewerbungsunterlagen bis zum 15. März 2005 zu Prof. Norma Sharp, Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“, Charlottenstr. 55, 10117 Berlin/Deutschland. Bitte teilen Sie uns Ihren Namen, Adresse und Ihr Alter mit.
Die eingeladenen KünstlerInnen erhalten täglich 5 Stunden Unterricht bei Prof. Norma Sharp und Frau Nena Brzakovic.

Grownupism!
1 Day, When I Grow Up!
So, as usual, I wuz sittin' an' stinkin' 'bout Xmas an' Neeu Yeer's an' holi–dayz away frum the dungeon skool an' the dragon teecher.
Man! While I'm relaxin', she's probably dreamin' up all kinds of torture for us kidz to face when vakation is over! The dragon's a genius for commin' up with projects to keep peeple workin' day an' nite an' konstantly under pressure!
Wow! Peeple talk 'bout grownups havin' nervus breakdowns frum stress; whut 'bout us kidz? We gotta do Niagara Falls homework an' plus, be good all the time!
That's alot to do an' stink 'bout!
So, as usual, the dragon teecher culdn't jes let us go home for the holi–dayz without a crown of thorns on our heds.
I lerned 'bout this in church an' I knew it wuld cum in handy 1 day!
I'm gittin' smarter with words!
Anywho, the dragon gave all us slave students, sum holi–day homework an' we have to turn it in when we go back to skool!
First thing when we walk in the door, the dragon teecher is waitin' for all of us!
Whew!
O.K.,so we gotta write 'bout the 'lektion an' Iraq an' stuff an' ol' Stetson Hat's next four yeers "in space", as my Father sez, but the dragon teecher sed, "in office"!
But anywho, I meen, who wants to do homework on their holi–dayz?
Alright already, we got no choice; either we git it at skool or/an' at home, if we mess up!
No Way Out!! Do or die!
As alwayz, there's gotta be a way out!?
So, as usual, I jes ask Papa an' Granma wut they think 'bout all this politics stuff!?
Mama kinda rolls her eyez, makes a deep breathin' noise an' does sumthin' around the house, probably till the diskussins over.
Mama's smart!
My Father sez, ol' Stetson Hat an' his boyz, "good an' decent" Runningfield, Scheney, Wolfmowitz, George Tennis, Soul Brener, along with good ol’ Candi Rice, made a reel mess of ev’rythin' from Iraq to the budget to taxes to playin' comedian with the truth 'bout all their charades!
Runningfield tried to pretend ev’rythin' was O.K. in Kuwait, but a soldier shot him down with a truth ol' "Good an' Decent" didn't want to hear an' certainly didn't want peeple to know, think or talk 'bout!
As usual, he tried to play John Wayne and only made the Powell Doktrine truer than ever!!
Colin Powell sed, only go for "bad or wars", when you are fully prepared and so Runningfield shuld stop tryin' to make history with unpreparedness, lousy ideas and at sumone else's expense; like life or death expense!
Ol' Stetson Hat is vampin', like a musician playin' the same chords over an' over agin, while tryin' to stink of sumthin' interesting to play or say?
Ol' Stetson Hat gave Tennis a.k.a Tenet, an' Soul Brener, the Prezidential Medal of Freedom for big time do–do's, but 'specially for their "loyalty" to the nonsense stumblings of the newly re'leked Prez. an' I don't meen Lester Young!
Ol' Scheney an' Wolfmowitz are keepin' a low profile, while they try to improve their puppeteer abilities an' retie sum loose strings an’ hope nobody notices.
Candi Rice is movin' into Powell's position an’ this for sure, won't hold much water or fresh air.
So, Amerika an' the Wurl are in for a long hard ride 'cause the driver's seats are occupied with true believers, "enlightened Tsunamis....."
"Nothing really works and mostly devastates!
Plus ol' Stetson claims to speak to a 'higher father', when in fact, he's only looking in the mirror!"
Granma nodded an' sed,
"Amen!"
Mama smiled an' kept on doin' sumthin'?
Papa sed, "I hope I answered your questions and was a little bit helpful?"
I sed, "Thank you, Papa, you are always helpful!"
Now, I jes gotta remember all this stuff an' write it down for the dragon teecher; in my own words, of course!
But first, I need my rest after all this work I did to help my family unnerstan' politics.

Erwachsensein!
Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!
Also, wie üblich war ich am Sitz'n und Stink'n üba Weihnachten und Neujahr und Ferijen, weg von der Kerkerschule und der Drachenlehrerin.
Mann! Während ich mich ausruh', erträumt sie sich wahrscheinlich alle möglichen Arten von Folter für uns Kinder, denen wir ausgesetzt werd'n, wenn die Ferijen vorbei sind!
Der Drachen is' 'n Genie darin, mit Projekten zu kommen, um Leute Tag und Nacht am Arbeit'n zu halt'n und dauernd unter Druck!
Wow! Die Leute red'n üba Erwachsene mit Nervenzusammenbrüchen wegen Stress, was is' mit uns Kindern? Wir müss'n Hausaufgaben mit dem Ausmaß von Niagarafällen mach'n und dazu noch die ganze Zeit gut sein!
Das is' 'ne Menge zu tun und drüba nachzustink'n!
Also, wie üblich konnte uns die Drachenlehrerin nich' einfach nach Haus' in die Ferijen geh'n lass'n ohne 'ne Krone mit Dornen auf unser'n Köpfen.
Das hab' ich inner Kirche gelernt und ich wusste, dass es mir eines Tages nützen würde!
Ich werd' immer besser mit Worten!
Jederfalls hat die Drachenlehrerin uns Sklavenschülern 'n paar Hausaufgaben üba die Ferijen gegeb'n und wir müss'n sie abgeb'n, wenn wir wieder in die Schule geh'n!
Als erstes, wenn wir durch die Tür geh'n, wartet die Drachenlehrein auf uns alle!
Puh!
Okay, also wir soll'n üba die Wahlen schreib'n und den Irak und so'n Zeugs und olle Texashuts nächste vier Jahre "im Vakuum", wie mein Vater sagt, der Drachen sagt aber "im Amt"!
Aber, jederfalls, ich mein', wer will üba die Ferijen Hausaufgaben mach'n?
Schon gut, wir hab'n keine Wahl, entweder wir kriegen's inner Schule oder/und zu Haus', wenn wir Mist bau'n!
Führt kein Weg dran vorbei! Mach's oder stirb!
Wie immer, es muss da einen Ausweg geb'n!?
Also hab' ich, wie üblich, Papa und Oma gefragt, was sie üba diesen ganzen Politikkram denk'n!?
Mama rollt irgendwie mit den Augen, gibt ein tiefes Stöhngeräusch von sich und tut irgendwas im Haus, wahrscheinlich bis die Diskussionen vorüba sind.
Mama is' klug!
Mein Vater sagt, olle Texashut und seine Jungs, "guter und anständiger" Renninsfeld, Scheinie, Wolfundwitz, Schorse Tennis, Soul Brenner, zusammen mit der guten alten Candi Reis hab'n wirklich Mist gebaut vom Irak üba den Haushalt bis zu den Steuern und zu dem Komödienspiel mit der Wahrheit üba ihre Scharaden!
Renninsfeld vasuchte vorzugeb'n, dass alles okay is' in Kuwait, aber ein Soldat hat ihn niedergestreckt mit einer Wahrheit, die olle "Gut und Anständig" nich' hör'n wollte und sicher nich' Leute wiss'n lass'n, drüba nachdenk'n oder red'n lass'n wollte!
Wie üblich, vasuchte er, John Wayne zu spiel'n und machte die Powell Doktrine wahrer als vorher!!
Colin Powell sagte, mach nur das "Schlimme und Kriege", wenn du voll vorbereitet bist, und Renninsfeld sollte also aufhör'n zu vasuch'n, Geschichte zu mach'n mit Unvorbereitetheit, lausigen Ideen und auf jemand anderes Kosten; wie auf Kosten von Leben oder Tod!
Olle Texashut is' am Improvisier'n wie'n Musiker, der die gleichen Akkorde immer und immer wieder spielt, während er vasucht üba irgendwas Interessantes nachzustink'n zum Spiel'n oder Sag'n!
Olle Texashut gab Tennis, auch bekannt als Tenet, und Soul Brenner den Präsidentenorden für Freiheit für übermäßigen Schlamassel, aber besonders für ihre "Loyalität" zu dem Blödsinnsgestolpere von dem neu wieder gewählten Präsi, und ich mein' nich' Lester Young!
Olle Scheinie und Wolfundwitz halten den Ball flach, während sie vasuch'n, ihre Puppenspielerqualitäten zu vabessern und 'n paar lose Fäden wieder zu vaknot'n und hoff'n, dass das niemand merkt.
Candi Reis nimmt Powells Position ein und, dies is' ma' sicher, wird nich' viel Wasser oder frische Luft halten.
So, Amerika und die Welt mach'n sich auf 'ne lange harte Reise, weil die Fahrersitze mit wirklichen Gläubigen besetzt sind, "erleuchtete Tsunamis....."
"Nichts funktioniert wirklich und meistens zerstört es!
Und, olle Texashut gibt vor, zu einem 'höheren Vater' zu sprechen, wobei, tatsächlich guckt er nur in den Spiegel!"
Oma nickte und sagte:
"Amen!"
Mama lächelte und machte weiter irgendwas?
Papa sagte: "Ich hoffe, ich habe deine Fragen beantwortet und war ein bißchen hilfreich?"
Ich sagte: "Danke, Papa, du bist immer hilfreich!"
Jetz' muss ich mir nur noch den ganzen Kram merk'n und für die Drachenlehrerin aufschreib'n; mit meinen eigenen Worten natürlich!
Aber erst brauch' ich meine Ruhe nach dieser ganzen Arbeit, die ich getan hab', um meiner Familie Politik vaständlich zu mach'n.

Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre in association with the Saint Louis Art Museum and Romare Bearden Foundation has produced and directed a documentary film entitled “Odyssey – Berlin/St. Louis/New York City/Berlin 2006”.
The 3 ½ hour documentary traces the path of the XXI. Black International Cinema Berlin 2006 from Berlin, Germany to St. Louis, Mo., New York City and returns to Berlin.
Through interviews, photomontages and original music, the journey of the XXI. Black International Cinema Berlin 2006 is recorded and will be introduced on July 20 and 27, 1 – 4 p.m. in Berlin via THE COLLEGIUM television program, special edition series, Open Channel Berlin.
The film will be subsequently presented in St. Louis, New York City and other international cinema venues and film festivals.
Fountainhead® Tanz Theatre in Verbindung mit dem Saint Louis Art Museum und der Romare Bearden Foundation produzierte und führte die Regie für einen Dokumentarfilm mit dem Titel "Odyssey – Berlin/St. Louis/New York City/Berlin 2006".
Die 3 ½-stündige Dokumentation beschreibt den Weg des XXI. Black International Cinema Berlin 2006 von Berlin, Deutschland, nach St. Louis, Missouri, New York City und zurück nach Berlin.
Die Reise des XXI. Black International Cinema Berlin 2006 wird anhand von Interviews, Fotomontagen und Originalmusik aufgezeigt und wird am 20. und 27. Juli jeweils von 13.00 – 16.00 Uhr während der Sondersendungen des THE COLLEGIUM Television Program im Offenen Kanal Berlin vorgestellt.
Der Film wird später in St. Louis, in New York City und anderen internationalen Kinos und Filmfestivals präsentiert.

1 Day, When I Grow Up!
I wuz sittin' an' stinkin' 'bout bein´ ol´ one day!
One of my neighbors is gittin´ pretty ol´ an´ kinda shaky!
I meen, when I wuz little, she used to play with me all the time an´ give me candy an´ stuff.
Now, she kin barely walk an´ when she does, sumbody is holdin´ her up!
Man, that´s kinda scary sad!
I feel guud an´ strong like superman an´ I´m never gonna git ol´ an´ creepy when I walk an´ talk!
Maybe she didn´t eat right when she wuz a kid or take her naps or sumthin´?
There´s gotta be a guud explanation for all her shaky walk an´ stuff?
It´s like all the stuffin´s been taken outta her, like you empty the stuffin´ from a turkey at Xmas time or sumthin´ like that?
Or maybe like sumbody let all the air outta a balloon an´ it jes shrivels!
This is sum weird stuff!
So, stupid me, I asked the dragon-teecher ´bout shaky peeple an´ how the shakes make the peeple look ol´ an´ drained an´ stuff!?
The dragon smiled an´ sed, "Well, I understand what you´re describing, but unless a person is ill, the movement of her body may be due to old age and a gradual weakening of her internal and physical structure."
Wow, the dragon-teecher reely knows howta explain things, but I still don´t see why the lady didn´t stop the gittin´ ol´ stuff, before it got outta hand an´ caused her all this trubble!?
So, like usual, the dragon-teecher jumped on this stuff an´ prescriped "Homeworkitis" as a cure!
Man, watta drag!
I jes wanted sum explanations, not a whole ´cyclepedia!
But, that´s wut I git for openin´ my big mouth in the wrong place an´ in fronta the wrong dragon!
My pardnurs gave me the nerd look an´ then I reely knew I had messed up – big time.
So, we gotta write sum stuff ´bout growin´ ol´!
O.K., I figure between papa, granma, mama an´ the internet, I kin squeeze sumthin´ soundin´ kinda guud an´ make the dragon-teecher happy – which is not an easy thing to do!
I figured I might as well start with sumbody ol´ to begin with an´ since granma is ol´, I asked her to tell me how she got that way?
Grandma laughed an´ sed, "Well, I didn´t really have any choice in the matter since I just kept on living."
Man, I never thought of it that way!
It´s a process of life son, if you look at people, animals, flowers, if they live long enough, eventually their energy and life force subside and they dwindle and eventually pass away to make room for the next generation of beings and plants and things!
It´s a natural process and all of us do the best we can to make life better for ourselves, the people with us and people who will arrive to replace us!
It´s nature´s way of renewal and hopefully, progress!
So, it´s ok son, just take care of yourself and your family and everything else you can manage.
Stay healthy, learn and be a contributor to all you can and everybody will be happy with you and you will be happy with yourself!"
Wow!
Then granma gave me a big hug an´ kiss an´ cuddled me for a while an´ tol´ me not to worry, because I wuz loved an´ cared for an´ protected an´ that I wuld live a long, happy an´ healthy life!
All this gittin´ ol´ stuff made me feel like cryin´ ´cause it seems so sad an´ maybe, not fair, but granma sed, "it´s alright son, I love you an´ you´re going to be just fine!
Now please write a nice paper for your teacher and if you need my help, just let me know.
Is that alright?"
O.K. granma, I answered.
Aktually, I figure a smart kid like me can git ´round all this gittin´ ol´ stuff!
But in the meentime, even though I don´t feel to guud ´bout all this shaky stuff, tomorrow´s another day an´ the dragon-teecher is waitin´ for her paper!
So, I´d better git busy, so the dragon doesn´t give me the shakes an´ make me ol´ sooner than I´m ready!
Man, all these feelin´s ar confusin´ an´ unhappy stuff an´ plus it´s makin´ me sleepy –
So, I´ll scribble sumthin´ for the "d-t" in the mornin´. That´ll fix her!

Erwachsensein!
Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!
Ich war am Sitz'n und Stink'n darüba, eines Tages alt zu sein!
Eine meiner Nachbern wird ziemlich alt und wacklig!
Ich mein, als ich klein war, spielte sie imma die ganze Zeit mit mir und hat mir Süßigkeiten gegeb'n und sowas.
Jetz' kann sie kaum lauf'n, und wenn sie läuft, stützt sie jemand!
Mann, das is' zum Fürcht'n traurig!
Ich fühl mich gut und stark wie Supermann und ich werd nie alt werd'n und kriech'n, wenn ich red und geh!
Vielleicht hat sie nich' das Richtige gegess'n, als sie 'n Kind war, oder ihre Nickerchen gemacht oder irgendwas?
Da muss es 'ne gute Erklärung für ihren wackligen Gang und den ganzen Kram geb'n?
Das is', als ob die ganze Füllung aus ihr rausgenomm' wurde, wie wenn du die Füllung aussem Truthahn nimmst an Weihnachten oder sowas ähnliches wie das?
Oder vielleicht, wie wenn jemand die ganze Luft aussem Ballon rauslässt und der einfach schrumpft!
Das is' 'n ganz unheimliches Zeug!
Also, ich Blödijan hab die Drachenlehrerin üba wacklige Leute gefragt und warum das Wackeln die Menschen alt ausseh'n lässt und ausgelaugt und sowas!?
Der Drachen lächelte und sagte: “Nun, ich verstehe, was du da beschreibst, aber, es sei denn ein Mensch ist krank, die Bewegung ihres Körpers könnte mit dem hohen Alter zu tun haben und einer allmählichen Schwächung ihrer inneren und physischen Struktur.“
Wow, die Drachenlehrerin weiß wirklich, wie man Dinge erklärt, aber ich vasteh imma noch nich', warum die Dame dieses Älterwerd'nzeugs nich' gestoppt hat, bevor es zu viel wurde und ihr diesen ganzen Ärger einbrachte!?
So, wie üblich, warf sich die Drachenlehrerin auf diesen Kram und vaschrieb “Hausaufgabenitis“ als Heilmittel!
Mann, was 'ne Qual!
Ich wollte nur 'ne einfache Erklärung, nich' 'ne ganze 'Zyklopedie!
Aber, das bekomm ich dafür, dass ich mein' großen Mund öffne am falschen Platz vor dem falschen Drachen!
Meine Kumpels gab'n mir den Trottelblick und dann wusste ich wirklich, dass ich Mist gebaut hatte – riesen Mist.
Also sollt'n wir was üba's Älterwerd'n schreib'n!
Okay, ich denk ma', zwischen Papa, Oma, Mama und dem Internet kann ich was rausquetschen, was irgendwie gut klingt und die Drachenlehrerin glücklich macht – was keine leichte Sache is'!
Ich übalegte, ich könnte ebenso mit jemand beginn', der alt is', und da Oma alt is', fragte ich sie, wie sie das gemacht hat, dass sie so wurde?
Oma lachte und sagte: “Nun, ich hatte nicht wirklich eine Wahl in dieser Sache, da ich einfach weitergelebt habe.“
Mann, von der Seite hab ich das noch nie geseh'n!
“Es ist ein Prozess des Lebens, mein Sohn. Wenn du dir die Menschen ansiehst, die Tiere, die Blumen, und sie leben lange genug, wird ihre Energie und Lebenskraft schließlich weniger und sie schwinden und vergehen schließlich, um Platz für die nächste Generation der Menschen und Pflanzen und Dinge zu machen!
Es ist ein natürlicher Prozess und wir alle tun das Beste, was wir können, um das Leben für uns besser zu machen, für die Menschen, die mit uns sind, und die Menschen, die kommen werden und unseren Platz einnehmen!
Es ist der Weg der Natur zur Erneuerung und hoffentlich des Fortschritts!
Also, es ist okay, mein Sohn, pass nur gut auf dich auf und deine Familie und alles andere, was du handhaben kannst.
Bleib gesund, lerne und gib deinen Beitrag zu allem, was du kannst, und jeder wird glücklich mit dir sein und du wirst glücklich über dich selbst sein!“
Wow!
Dann umarmte mich Oma ganz fest und gab mir einen Kuss und knuddelte mich für eine Weile und sagte mir, ich soll mir keine Sorgen mach'n, weil ich geliebt werd und umsorgt und beschützt und dass ich ein langes, glückliches und gesundes Leben hab'n werd!
Von all diesem Zeugs üba's Älterwerd'n wurde mir zum Wein' zumute, weil es so traurig zu sein scheint und vielleicht nich' fair, aber Oma sagte: “Es ist in Ordnung, mein Sohn, ich habe dich lieb und es wird für dich alles gut werden!
Nun schreibe bitte einen schönen Aufsatz für deine Lehrerin, und wenn du meine Hilfe brauchst, lass es mich einfach wissen.
Ist das in Ordnung?“
Okay, Oma, antwortete ich.
Eigentlich dachte ich, 'n kluges Kind wie ich, könnte um all dies Älterwerd'nzeugs drumrum komm'!
Aber in der Zwischenzeit, auch wenn ich mich bei all diesem Kram mit dem Wackeln nich zu gut fühl, morgen is' auch noch 'n Tag und die Drachenlehrerin wartet auf ihr'n Aufsatz!
Also, mach ich mich besser dran, damit mir der Drachen nich 'n Wackler verabreicht und mich früher alt macht, als meine Zeit da is'!!
Mann, all diese Gefühle sind vawirrend und unglücklicher Kram und noch dazu macht es mich müde -
So, ich schreib was für die “D-L“ am Morgen. Das wird sie bestech'n!

1Day, When I Grow Up!
So, as usual, I wuz sittin' an' stinkin' 'bout lotsa nothin' an' sum sumthin' in partiklar.
As usual, the dragon-teecher had a lot to do with my sumthin' in partiklar thinkin'!
She had alla us look at T.V. 'bout young kidz shootin' each other.
For reel!! Totally yukky stuff!
We were s'posed to look at T.V. atta special program an' then write 'bout it an' discuss it in klass!
I gotta admit! The program wuz scary!
Teenagers shootin' at other teenagers an' not only shootin' at 'em, but killin' 'em, too!
At least two peeple ev'ry week or two!
An' 'bout 20 sum kidz were already dead!
An' nobody seem to have an idea how to stop this killin' peeple stuff!
The gunshop owner, who wuz makin' lottsa money sed, "The guns don't shoot without help from some people pulling the triggers!"
Wow, the guy's a filosopher!
I meen, the guy is right, but on the other hand, peeple couldn't pull triggers on guns, that weren't even there!
No gun, no trigger, no shootin', no killin'!
Like 2+2 equals 4!
Even the skool supertendent sed on T.V., "if these murders were happening in other neighborhoods, where wealthier people lived, some sort of response or solution would have been thought of and implemented to deal with the problem, a long time ago." Wow, I thought - it looks like kinda "just us" for sum peeple an' another justice for the peeple with Hilton money?
So then, I thought, that statue I see blindfolded with a scale in her hand, mus' be peekin' from behin' the eye cover to see who is poor an' who is rich an' then makin' her decision on who gits whut an' for how long or how short!?
Nothin' even-handed here, jes who's in the driver's seet an' who's not!?
So in other words, to have lottsa money meens to live in a wurl seperate an' safer than peeple who don't have money!?
Man, as I'm growin' up, I'm startin' to see things a lot diferent than I saw them wen I wuz a kid!
I guess that's wut granma meens wen she talks 'bout "the people need to take off their rose colored glasses and see the world for what it really is!"
I think rose colored goggles is for money peeple an' bare-eyed is for poor peeple!
I think I'm beginnin' to unnerstan' how the wurl reely works!
Tomorrow, I'm gonna write all this stuff down for the dragon-teecher an' see wut she says?
I hope she's gonna luv it, 'cause I think I'm on the rite track an' plus after all this watchin' horror T.V. murder reality flicks, I shuld git sum great resultz!
All this sittin' an' stinkin' an' watchin' T.V. is eshaostin' -

Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!
Also, wie üblich war ich am Sitz'n und Stink'n üba 'ne Menge Nichts und 'n bißchen Etwas im Besonderen.
Wie üblich hatte die Drachenlehrerin 'ne Menge mit mei'm üba Etwas im Besonderen Nachdenk'n zu tun!
Sie ließ uns alle fernseh'n üba kleine Kinder, die sich gegenseitig beschieß'n.
In echt!! Total ekliger Kram!
Wir sollt'n Fernsehen guck'n. Ein spezielles Programm und dann drüba schreib'n und inner Klasse diskutier'n!
Ich muss zugeb'n, das Programm war zum Fürcht'n!
Teenager, die auf and're Teenager schieß'n, und nich' nur schieß'n, sondern sie auch töt'n!
Mindestens zwei Leute jede Woche oder jede zweite!
Und irgendwas bei 20 Kinder war'n schon tot!
Und niemand scheint 'ne Idee zu hab'n, wie man dieses Leutetötenzeugs stopp'n könnte!
Der Waffenladenbesitzer, der 'ne Menge Geld gemacht hat, sagte: "Die Pistolen schießen nicht ohne Hilfe von einigen Leuten, die den Abzug drücken!"
Wow, der Typ is' 'n Philosoph!

Sogar der Schulrat sagte im Fernsehen: "Wenn diese Morde in einer anderen Nachbarschaft geschehen wären, in der wohlhabendere Leute wohnten, hätte man über irgendeine Reaktion oder Lösung nachgedacht und diese umgesetzt, um mit dem Problem fertig zu werden. Und das vor längerer Zeit."
Wow, dacht ich - das sieht aus wie'n Gesetz für einige Menschen und 'ne and're Gerechtigkeit für Menschen mit Hiltongeld?
Also dann, dacht ich, muss diese Statue mit der Augenbinde, die ich kenn, mit 'ner Waage in ihrer Hand an der Seite ihrer Binde durchspiek'n, um zu seh'n, wer arm is' und wer reich, und dann entscheid'n, wer was bekommt und für wie lange oder wie kurz!?
Nichts gleichmäßig verteilt hier, einfach danach, wer auf'm Fahrersitz is' und wer nich'!? Also mit and'ren Worten, 'ne Menge Geld zu hab'n bedeutet, in einer getrennten Welt und sicherer zu leb'n als Menschen, die kein Geld hab'n!?
Mann, wie ich so erwachsen werd, fang ich an, die Dinge ganz anders zu seh'n, als ich sie als Kind geseh'n hab!
Ich glaub, das is' es, was Oma meint, wenn sie sagt: "Die Leute müssen ihre rosarote Brille abnehmen und die Welt so sehen, wie sie wirklich ist."
Ich glaub rosarote Schutzbrillen sind für Geldmenschen und ohne Gläser is für arme Menschen! Ich denk, ich beginn zu vasteh'n, wie die Welt wirklich funktioniert!
Morgen schreib ich diesen ganzen Kram für die Drachenlehrerin auf und seh ma', was sie sagt?
Ich hoff, sie mag es, weil ich glaub, dass ich auf der richtigen Spur bin, und außerdem, nach diesen ganzen Horrorfernsehen-Reality-Mordfilmen sollte ich 'n paar gute Noten krieg'n.

Grownupism! 1Day, When I Grow Up!
So, as usual, I wuz sittin' an stinkin bout the days gittin shorter an the weather gittin chillier!
Me an my pardnurs always know wut that meens!
It meens the dragon-teechers are startin to rise up after their summer sleep.
Yuk!
The dragon-teechers are kinda like bears, only they hibernate in the summer to be sure they have the power to harass alla us kids, all over agin an not for a little while either, but for a whole century, which they call a skool year!
Ha!
Dragon-teechers never git sick, they jes git ol an learn new wayz to do kid harassement! They call it teachin!
An sum of em, are reel, reel good at it too!
I mean reel good!
I also see em paintin an fixin the dungeon skool too, cause you know the dungeon skool keepers are in cahoots with the dragon skool-teechers!
Whatta team!
They work so well together, they shudda been in the Olympics this summer!
But no, they wanna keep their child harassement under cover, as much as possible!
But wut we kids find kinda strange, is the perents are workin with 'em!
I meen, like day an nite with em!
Go to school, do your homework, behave yourself, an on an on an' on!
Us kids feel like walkin, eatin, talkin kid computers! Or robots or sumthin like that!
Well, if were lucky, alla us kidsll grow up, cause that seems like the only way to escape this edumacation torture stuff!
Well, I made it through all these years, so I guess I kin keep on doin' it!?
Man, I sure hope so!? Plus, I have to!
All this skool beginnin is depressin stuff an it's wearin me out -
So, Im gonna sey

Erwachsensein! Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!
Also, wie üblich war ich am Sitz'n und Stink'n darüba, dass die Tage kürzer werd'n und das Wetter kühler wird!
Ich und meine Kumpels wiss'n imma, was das heißt!
Es bedeutet, dass die Drachenlehrer anfang'n, sich aus ihrem Sommerschlaf zu erheb'n.
Igitt!
Die Drachenlehrer sind irgendwie wie Bären, nur dass die im Sommer Winterschlaf halt'n, um sicher zu geh'n, dass sie Kraft hab'n, um uns Kinder alle zu quäl'n, wieder und wieder und bloß nich' zu kurz, sondern für'n ganzes Jahrhundert, was bei ihnen ein Schuljahr heißt!
Ha!
Drachenlehrer werd'n nie krank, sie werd'n nur alt und lern'n neue Arten von Kinderschikane!
Das nenn'n die Unterricht'n!
Und einige von ihnen sind darin auch wirklich echt gut!
Ich mein, richtig gut!
Ich seh auch, wie sie die Kerkerschule streich'n und reparier'n, weil man weiß, dass die Kerkerschulhausmeister mit den Drachenlehrern unter einer Decke steck'n!
Was'n Team!
Die arbeit'n so gut zusamm', die hätten an Olympia diesen Sommer teilnehm'n könn'n!
Aber nein, die wollen ihre Kinderschikaniererei geheim halt'n, so gut es geht!
Aber was wir Kinder merkwürdig find'n, ist, dass die Eltern mit ihnen zusamm' arbeit'n!
Ich mein, mit ihnen, wie Tag und Nacht!
"Geh zur Schule, mach deine Hausaufgaben, benimm dich", und so weiter und so weiter und so weiter!
Wir Kinder komm' uns vor wie laufende, essende, sprechende Kindercomputer! Oder Roboter oder sowas ähnliches!
Also, wenn wir Glück hab'n, werd'n wir Kinder alle erwachsen werd'n, weil das der einzige Weg zu sein scheint, diesem Erziehungstorturzeugs zu entkommen!
Naja, ich hab's die ganzen letzten Jahre geschafft, also denk ich ma', kann ich auch noch weiter durchhalt'n!?
Mann, das hoff ich fest!? Außerdem muss ich ja wohl!
Dieser ganze Schulbeginnkram is' deprimierendes Zeugs und erschöpft mich -
Also sag ich ma' 'Nacht, und wenn ich wach werd, war das alles ein böser Traum und es is' nur der Anfang vom Sommer!?

In 2008, history was made when Barack Obama was elected president. This made me feel very proud to be an African American.
America has taken a big step in accepting diversity in political leadership roles. By that I mean voting for and electing our first African American president, Barack Obama. Barack Obama is an inspiration to me, because he proved that there can always be change as long as you are willing to work toward it.
I also believe, he will make every effort to find a peaceful solution to ending the war in Iraq, solving the crisis with the economy, and any other crisis that may effect America and its people in the future.
Barack Obama is an inspiration to every American - Black, White, Asian, and Hispanic.

Meine Gedanken zu Barack Obama
Im Jahr 2008 wurde Geschichte gemacht, als Barack Obama zum Präsidenten gewählt wurde. Dies machte mich sehr stolz darauf, ein Afrikanisch-Amerikaner zu sein.
Amerika hat einen großen Schritt darin getan, Verschiedenheit in der politischen Führung zu akzeptieren. Damit meine ich, für unseren ersten afrikanisch-amerikanischen Präsidenten, Barack Obama, zu stimmen und ihn zu wählen. Barack Obama ist eine Inspiration für mich, weil er bewiesen hat, dass es immer Veränderungen geben kann, so lange man gewillt ist, darauf hin zu arbeiten.
Ich glaube auch, dass er jede Anstrengung unternehmen wird, eine friedliche Lösung zu finden, um den Krieg in Irak zu beenden, die Wirtschaftskrise zu überwinden und jede andere Krise, die sich in Zukunft auf Amerika und seine Menschen auswirken mag.
Barack Obama ist eine Inspiration für alle Amerikaner - Schwarze, Weiße, Asiaten und Lateinamerikaner.

Grownupism!
1Day, When I Grow Up!
So, as usual, I wuz sittin' an' stinkin' 'bout all kindsa stuff an' wonderin' where my mind should land to git sumthin' clear one way or another!
Thinkin' 'bout all kindsa stuff at once is not very hip or as my pardnuhrs would sey an' do sey to me, it's not very productive!
I don't know, maybe 'cause they're older, they maybe know better?
At least, that's the feelin' I git, when they talk to me.
Anda lotta other people too!
Like always, if sumthin' happens in the wurl, we kids gotta always know 'bout it!
The dragon-teecher doesn't care how we know, but we'd better git the information!
OK, that means readin', talkin' an' explainin' all kindsa stuff to her an' all the class members.
There's been a lotta talk an' T.V. 'bout Barack Obama for a long time an' it's gittin' more an' more, all the time.
So now, it's election day an' nite.
Just watta lotta peeple have been waitin' for, includin' my perents an' the dragon-teecher! I tried an' stayed awake durin' the election newscast, but I gotta admit, lookin' at numbers an' ol' peeple talkin' all the time, is not so interestin'.
So, guess wut, I fell asleep!
When I woke up, my perents tol' me, "It's all over and we have a new President and his name is President-elect Barack Obama."
So, I guess all his long, hard work with peeple watchin' him all the time, finally paid off!
Maybe that's a lesson for me an' lotsa other peeple too?
Man, all this payin' attention an' stuff is makin' me sleepy again,
so, I'm jes gonna sey,

Erwachsensein!
Eines Tages, wenn ich erwachsen werde!
Also, wie üblich war ich am Sitz'n und Stink'n üba alles mögliche Zeugs und fragte mich, wo meine Gedanken land'n sollt'n, um was klar zu krieg'n, so oder anders!
Üba allen möglichen Kram auf einmal nachzudenk'n is' nich' sehr hip, oder wie meine Kumpels sag'n würd'n und mir auch sag'n, es is' nich' sehr produktiv! Ich weiß nich', vielleicht weil sie älter sind, wiss'n sie's vielleicht besser?
Jedenfalls bekomm ich dies Gefühl, wenn sie mit mir red'n.
Und 'ne Menge and'rer Leute auch!
Wie imma, wenn was in der Welt passiert, müss'n wir Kinder imma drüba Bescheid wiss'n!
Der Drachenlehrerin is' egal wie, aber wir sollt'n uns besser die Informationen beschaff'n!
OK, das bedeutet les'n, red'n und alles Mögliche erklär'n, ihr und der ganzen Klasse.
Es gab 'ne lange Zeit 'ne Menge Gespräche und Fernsehen üba Barack Obama und es wird imma mehr die ganze Zeit.
Und nun is' Wahltag und -nacht.
Genau das, worauf 'ne Menge Leute gewartet hab'n, einschließlich meine Eltern und die Drachenlehrerin!
Ich hab's vasucht und bin während der Wahlnachrichten wach geblieb'n, aber ich muss zugeb'n, Zahlen anseh'n und alte Menschen red'n die ganze Zeit, is' nich' so interessant.
Also, ratet mal, ich bin eingeschlaf'n!
Als ich aufwachte, erzählt'n meine Eltern mir: "Es ist alles vorbei und wir haben einen neuen Präsidenten und sein Name ist designierter Präsident Barack Obama."
So, ich glaub ma', seine lange, harte Arbeit unter der ständigen Beobachtung von Menschen hat sich am Ende ausgezahlt!
Vielleicht is' das 'ne Lektion für mich und auch für 'ne Menge and'rer Leute?
Mann, dieses ganze Aufpass'n und Zeugs macht mich wieder müde,
also sag ich einfach ma'
