No it wouldnt be, because your house wouldnt be the base for an organisation aiming to help support people who reject car culture and give them help and advice maintaining machines which help people reclaim the roads from pollution producing monsters. I'm guessing the headquarters for these guys will.

Hope you find somewhere soon, good luck

bike co op

aint there already a bike co op in rusholme?

Yes there is

a bike co-op in Rusholme called Bicycle Doctor. As a keen cyclist I don't use it because they charge quite high prices for new bikes and for spare parts. I use those non co-op small bike shops, which are nearly always cheaper. Strange that, as co-ops are supposedly non-profit making. I suspect that any money made by co-ops such as Bicycle Doctor is simply not classed as profit, but shared between the employees and called 'wages', 'salary' or 'pay'. From a customer point of view, I have found most co-ops expensive and therefore pointless to shop at. I think they are meant to attract youngish, left leaning high earners who like to make a political statement when buying something, without bothering to look into the matter too closely in case their feelgood factor is compromised. Am I right or am I wrong? I've asked serving staff at various co-ops about pay and profits, but they seem either defensive or clueless.

its true

yeah its true, well, all bike shops usually mark stuff up by %100 of the trade price, and bike doctor seems to charge a lot for some stuff, especially because they dont seem to have cheap bikes, or bikes under £300.
we arent guna be a commercial 'social' enterprise. we are trying to ber a cheap bike shop, and be helpfull in the sense that we want to teach people hot to mend bikes as well as get paid to fix them.
we plan to do youth work, and 'earn a bike' schemes, as well as doing good quality second hand bikes.
hopefully we can achieve this, and wont be like other bike shops...
maybe you would like to come along when we are open and see for yourself, you might like us, ya never know! :)
