4 anti-war protestors, from Southampton,Gosport and Portsmouth will appear at West End Police Station, Saville Row at Midday on Wednesday 2nd February.

The 4 have yet to be charged or interviewed, in connection with a protest occurring on 23rd November 2004 during the opening of Parliament.

The 4 walked unhindered and peacefully, into the Cabinet Office, wearing clothes spattered with fake blood. Their non-violent protest lasted about 20 minutes, during which time they made repeated requests to talk to somebody in the Government. They wanted to demand an end to the massacres in Fallujah of innocent civilians carried out by UK and US armed forces. The protest occurred on the day the Government announced further restrictions on the right to protest, and it occurred after the protestors had staged die-ins outside 10 Downing Street and in Parliament Square.

The 4 were arrested and held in Police Custody for 24 hours. Not only were the protestors strip-searched, but they also had their homes searched and items unconnected with the protest were seized.

A vigil in support of the anti-war protest will be held between midday and four o’clock at

West End Central Police Station.
