COMMUNIQUE ABOUT PERSECUTION FROM FURRIERS TO ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVISTS
[Argentina]
With the end of looking protection from human rights organizations and
defenders of animals I address you to let you know about the events
that have been taking place in Buenos Aires, Capital Federal, Republic
of Argentina.
Some months ago, I was invited to a public demonstration in favor of
the life of thousands of chinchillas that die by electrocution so their
fur can be sold for the confection of coats. More than 140 animals are
used for the making of a single coat that is sold for US$50 000.
We, a group of vegans, had a demonstration in front of a centric hotel
of our Capital and in front of Santa Isabel church where some
"seminaries" of diffusion of such activity were taking place. More than
twenty people went to the place with signs that asked to stop animal
suffering and we stayed there, rising our signs, in absolute order. Mr.
Hector Aleandri, owner of El Dorado S.R.L., the most important
chinchilla slaughterhouse of the country and main fur exporter was
inside Santa Isabel church. He assaulted demonstrators and spitted at
me in front of many people. We were photographed and after some time,
in another demonstration we had to spread vegetarianism I was delayed
in the street along with a partner and some policemen that were guided
by Hector Aleandri. Alleging a penal case against us, our documents
were detained and since that moment, the furrier had access to my
personal and my partner's data. After this, we started receiving
telephone calls and "police visits" in our homes alerting us about
penal cases filed against us. We also found messages of furriers in the
Internet. Some days ago I received at home a letter-document in which
Mr. Alejandri accuses me of leading a group of dangerous vegans,
attempt against his personal wealth and property, and he makes us
responsible of any arson or attempt that could happen in any furrier,
butcher store, etc.
I have never been part of any act of which the furrier accuses me, I've
just been part of the ones described in the above text. Alejandri has
no proves against me.
I am legal assessor and executive director of Anima Naturalis Argentina
and I am sending this communique to let you know what is going on in
case anything happens to me and based on the asymmetry of resources
between the informant and this group of furriers with a great economic
endorsement.
This is part of the document sent from Héctor Aleandri to both my
particular address and my work address:
"Without affecting personal actions already started by the injuries and
calumnies and also to the property damage etc, etc, whose civil repairs
I estimate in the sum of 100,000 dollars, for the fact that such
defamation has been acknowledged by millions of people in the
spanish-speaking world with great damage for the subscriber, whose good
name is widely known in the whole world by his works, books,
international seminaries in the USA, Europe, etc etc, and taking into
account the grave tragedy occurred in Buenos Aires with the death of
almost 200 people and hundreds of grave injured*... I allow myself to
ask you and your group of vegans (perfectly individualized...
photographed... for acknowledgment of rabbit and other animal breeders,
circuses, etc, etc) have you realized how HIGHLY DANGEROUS can Internet
websites be... in your case as lawyer registered at the Lawyer
Association, mediator, etc, you cannot ignore that your higher
education makes you more responsible than the rest of the group... I
demand you by this mean to stop the defamation of the subscribed, in
the attack to his personal wealth and any act against the law. I remind
you that if any irresponsible reader of your websites starts an arson
in any furrier, butcher shop, slaughterhouse or any kind of animal
breeder, McDonald's restaurant... and any death or grave injure ALL OF
YOU would have penal and civil responsability. I urge you to share this
document with ALL your group... so you step back at inciting violence
and committing violent acts that could have really grave
consequences..." Signed: Dr. Héctor Aleandri 4.277.465 and Graciela
Galguera DNI: 12.087.429

As you can read, the accusations are really grave.
I AM AFRAID OF THE EVENTUALITY OF AN "AUTO-ATTACK" SO THIS DOCUMENT
COULD BE USED AS A PREVIOUS ACT TO A FALSE ACCUSATION.
I have never committed a crime. I am just trying to spread love to all
the animals of the creation by demonstrating in public places with
posters and flyers. That is all.
* This commentary is related to a discotheque fire in Buenos Aires
occurred on December 31, 2004 where at least 175 mostly teens died and
889 were injured. By saying that he is implying she just cares about
chinchillas and not people.
