Hants SABS

Joe Public | 21.01.2005 20:35 | Animal Liberation | South Coast

Help us nail the lid shut, once and for all, on the hideous coffin that is Hunting.

the little blighter!
the little blighter!

It takes over 200 savage butchers.......
It takes over 200 savage butchers.......

What was once a Labour pre-election 'pledge'- to ban fox-hunting, once and for all, has most unsuprisingly turned into a farce, so they're still out there kiiling foxes and Hunt Sabs still need as much support as ever. So please get in touch to see how you can help- in any way possible...or better still- GET OUT THERE!

This from SARC online...

"The only way to prevent a foxhunt killing foxes is to sabotage it! The best campaigning in the world means nothing to the thousands of foxes and other animals that will be chased towards a violent and bloody end in the meantime. After fourty years of practice, hunt saboteurs have become skilled in the art of saving lives through sabotage. The tactics can be basic, and learned after a morning's explanation, or more complicated, but all can be mastered in a season or two.

The tactics themselves range from spraying scent maskers to disguise the scent line of the hunted fox; to imitating the huntsman's voice and horn calls to get control of the hounds; to sitting on a fox earth to prevent a dig-out. A personal stereo linked to a small amplifier and loud hailer (nicknamed a 'gizmo') can be used to play tape recordings of the hounds in cry to encourage them away from foxes and towards sabs.

You don't have to be super fit, or know every tactic inside out to come sabbing and save lives. All any hunt saboteur needs to do is recognise that hunts are killing wildlife now and want to do everything they can to stop them."

Please note...the above two designs are from a set of eight postcard designs I've recently made-up for Sabs. Firstly, there is definately NO COPYRIGHT on these pics so please spread them as far and wide as possble, in order to maximize their effect (hopefully getting people involved).
And secondly, does anyone know of a sympathetic printer who may be into helping us out with getting the postcards printed in some quantity, at a decent price??

We look forward to seeing you in the fields.
We look forward to being with you in the quiet roads away from prying eyes
we look forward to following you home and speaking with you again there
We look forward to meeting you when you are alone
We look forward to speaking to your employers about your activities

Hunter

Looking forward to it?

Hunter's comment made everything nice and clear for everyone else:
this is a low level of threats and intimidation but quite indicative of the sort of thugs and bullies who take part in bloodsports.
Reading between the lines Hunter is threatening that:
- they will attack us on country lanes. nothing new there, but when they lose the fight they start, they go squealing to the cops or to the media and say we started it!
- they will make home visits. This is nothing new - a hunt sab had their car firebombed in January.
- that they will pick us off on our own. presumably with a few of their mates so they can outnumber us like they do the wildlife. how brave!
- they will speak to our employers about our activities...imagine it......

"Dear Sir/madam, were you aware that your employee saves animals lives on a regular basis from a bunch of cowardly blood junkies who think ripping a fox apart is fun? We demand that they lose their job immediately. Love, Hunter"

and the response: "Dear Hunter, we did not realise what a brave person our employee is. We will now make sure they get a raise ans some extra days off work to save lives from you and your sad mates."

So, get this "Hunter". 2 hunt saboteurs were killed saving lives. Countless others have been injured. But we will not give in to your bullying. We will keep on saving save lives.

bigger bullies

While I support your right to protest what is a unsavoury past time, I don't see why people should not be allowed to do what they want on their own private land within reason. The bigger bullies are the Neo Fascist Labour party who want to control the countryside and tell everyone what to do. Part of their agend is to destroy the middle class and upperclass landowners who have the influence and money to oppose them. The only way to control lagre populations is by turning citizens onto police.

within reason...

..is the operative phrase. I fully support private property rights, but they have limits. There are a number of "unreasonable" things I am not allowed to do on my property. These include.

- Setting up a brothel
- Converting my garage into a sawmilling operation
- Playing my stereo loudly after 10.30 at night
- Installing an unfenced swimming pool
- Anything that is against the law of the country

Need I go on? It is certainly not "reaonable" to chase, terrify and finally tear apart a sentient being, and justify it simply on the grounds that it is on your property. You would not be allowed to do it to a human or even a domestic cat. Why should you be allowed to treat a fox any differently?

evil bullies

It's legal to catch and kill a fish in your own lake, which isn't much different. Foxes are hunted because they would be killed anyway, in theory at least. Perhaps it would be better if the hounds were trained to apprehend the fox, and then it is shot?

The law will always be oppressive while any of the major parties are in power. My point was more to do with we shouldn't have the sabatoeurs policing the hunts, especially when there are much more important issues. The legislation was nothing to do with foxes and all about telling people what to do; particularly the 'out of touch land-owning toffs' who would never vote labour, and are a threat to this neo-stalinist government. The sly fabian in government who we should be hunting will use whatever excuse works to be able to do it.

It shows the doublethink of those who are anti-hunting that they will call it democracy when it goes in their favour. If we had genuine democracy local areas would make their own decisions and the townies who vote labour would not be able to pass a law in a country area that opposed it.
