19.01.2005 20:36

There is gonna be a very very big party in Nottingham on the 12th of March with some very good bands and artists. Keep this date free. For certain reasons the venueo will follow nearer the time. All other info to follow next week.

Big F***ing Party

You missed www.rocketfestival.com festival in spain too

19.01.2005 22:34

The Rocket Festival is a three day festival of contemporary and traditional music, performance and sculpture set in a beautiful site in the heart of Andalucia in the deep south of Spain.

Local artists, performers and crew are working with guests from across Europe to create a truly international festival with a strong Andalucian influence.

Check out the website.

p.s. the festival is definately nothing to do with any of the free party sound systems from Brighton...

Party and Protest Against the G8

20.01.2005 14:29

Around the G8 summit (july 05) there are plans for various big campsites with entertainment guarenteed, as well as concerts etc. There will be convergence centres and a running programme of cultural events (gigs, workshops, cinema, street theatre etc etc).

While it's all still up in the air, and discussions are going on with local council and police authorities, there are several plans by different groups which will include a concert in edinburgh on Sat 2nd after the Make Poverty History demo (which will be huge) - also G8Alternatives and others are looking to hold several days of counter conferences with camping and an ongoing festival...lots of big bands interested - tons of folk bands up for it - and also free party people up for a several day gathering... this is gonna need input from all sides and all peoples... The gatherings should display politics in action, a true vision of alternatives being demonstrated on the ground - time to walk the walk, not just talk!

Land / sites is of course a big issue for all of this, with the fear being the authorities will hold out any approvals until it's too late to properly organise things. In which case it will be the authorities worst nightmare with a chaotic situation of tens of thousands of people in and around the area, no doubt with land being squatted right left and centre...

Put this in yer diaries now and start planning!

Gay Pride festivals...

20.01.2005 16:53

Just to add (though I know they're usually not 'radical' as such- why not come along with
your banners and/or book a stall at any parkpartys anyway?) this years proposed Gay Pride
festivals.

Birmingham. End of May Bankholiday weekend.

Canterbury. 11 June 2005. (1200 Westgate Gdns-parade to Dane John Gdns for party)
This is the FIRST ever such event in Kent (darkest Toryland)

London. 03 July 2005. Probably Hyde Park to Westminster- then festie from Trafalgar
square (political rally) to Soho area.

Brighton. 07 August 2005. Usually the 'fun' gay pride of the year.

There are usually several others around the country. (Bournmouth, Leicester etc) too.
