Call Goes Out to Ignore Debts

Bill | 17.01.2005 22:20 | Globalisation | Sheffield

A movement has started preparing itself to boycott all mortgages and credit card debts and reconsider the global economy with a clean slate.

The idea started in Sydney, Australia, and is spreading across the world as local communities prepare themselves for the challenges involved in such an action. Investors are being encouraged to convert savings held in currencies or financial institutions into real assets as a precaution.

The boycott starts on May the 1st, 2015, allowing time for thorough preparation.

the sentiment is fine, but in practice consumer boycotts tend not to work on this level. the only REAL incentive would be a mass inabitilty to pay, such as brought in by unemployment or rocket interest rares. personally, my mortgage will be paid off by then hopefully

"Brown said he aims for the G8 summit in Gleneagles, Scotland, in July to agree on the total cancellation of $80-billion of debts owed by poor nations to the IMF, the World Bank and the African Development Bank."
