Police were intimidating Larc users this evening with aggressive surveillance.

Police FIT (Forward Intelligence Team) were outside Larc  http://www.londonarc.org/
this evening photographing and videoing everyone going in and out. There were 12 - that's TWELVE - of them (plus a riot wagon) standing around looking shifty while the single photographer did all the "work". I was particularly choked at this waste of public funds having had a break in a couple of nights ago. Do the police show any interest in pursuing the case? Yeah, right.

Photograph them back!

Some cops are paranoid about being photographed, that's why they turn away. So, photograph them as much as possible, or better still video them and keep a record of their shoulder badge numbers. There are only a small handful of police photographers in London, and they turn up time and time again, so keep a picture dossier on them, for future reference or for publicity purposes.

These methods the police use are a way of deterring people from attending peaceful meetings and exercising their freedom of speech and it works, unfortunately. Though, as one who has been photographed many, many times over the years, I have never had any subsequent problems. On the other hand, they do specifically target just a few people and stalk them openly but if this isn't happening to you don't let them put you off by being photographed.

Hey, well done LARC

I've only seen that sort of police attention when a group is getting it right and upsetting the status quo. They are only doing this cos they cant get you in other ways and they are blatantly intimidating (do the Met know any other way).

Best of luck with what ever it is that is upsetting them so.
