Dear Radio Friend,
The latest Shortwave Report (January 14) is up at the website  http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.3MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (28:58)

This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, the Voice of Russia, China Radio International, Spanish National Radio, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From NETHERLANDS- In Venezuela, Hugo Chavez has begun implementing a land reform policy after 4 years of preparation. As the US prepares to release 4 British and 1 Australian from Guantanamo Bay the question arises- how many innocent people have been held over the past 3 years?
From RUSSIA- The IAEA chief al-Baradi says they are inspecting compounds in Iran, but that there is no work being done there on nuclear weapons. According to current polling, US citizens are pessimistic about the future in Iraq. An analysis of why some governments are pushing for a unipolar world and why the majority oppose it. The world is waiting to see how Bush's new foreign policy team will deal with the multiple conflicts that were escalated under the first administration.
From CHINA-US Representitive Tom Lantos has completed a visit to N Korea and says that they are willing to negotiate on freezing their nuclear programs if the US backs off from its hostile policy. Many observers and military personnel in Iraq say that the country is not ready to hold the elections scheduled for January 30th.
From SPAIN- The outgoing president of Ukraine has ordered the troops home from Iraq. Hugo Chavez is having a conflict with Colombian police kidnapping FARC rebels out of Venezuela. Cuba is back on speaking terms with all European embassies in Havana.
From CUBA- A London-based film crew has produced a movie, called "City of Ghosts," showing the complete destruction of the city of Fallujah. New Zealand has confirmed that it supplied Agent Orange to the US military during the Vietnam War, leading to claims of a breach of the Geneva Convention and subject to lawsuits by Vietnamese people and American soldiers.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm (PST) on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via  http://www.kzyx.org
There are several other streams that work better-  http://www.freakradio.org Freak Radio Santa Cruz now streams this program on Friday at 9:00am (PST)
Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)-  http://www.radiolavalamp.org
streaming the SWR, check out the schedule.
And the Partytown streams are great and informative-  http://www.partytown.com/radio
I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt! (maybe a little)
