Radio Bronka, pirate radio station existing for 18 years in Barcelona, was surprised to find its signal covered up by Spanish National Radio
THEY HAVE SHUT US DOWN
Spanish National Radio, in its fifth version, has decided to jump from the frequency 576 a.m. to (coincidence?) 99.0 f.m., previously ocupied by Radio Bronka. Suddenly, without advance notice, Radio 5 of the SNA used its blatant carte blanche over the radio frequencies of catalunya, and at the same time overpowering our broadcast by kilowatts.
We’d like to thanks the triparty Spanish, Catalàn and oposition government for the open and comunicative form of action, and thank them for showing their profound respect for the freedom of expression.
BUT THEY WON’T SHUT US UP!

Radio Bronka, a free radio station broadcasting in Barcelona for 18 years, was silenced on the morning of Dec. 21 by Spanish National Radio (SNA 5) a national station run by the medias of confusication and defamation of reality.
Stations like Radio Bronka uncork this reality and speak out against complacency; its not so strange that some of the powers that encourage this conformity try to disarm this voice. We don’t only try to inform – as if the task of the established (dis)order were to create and ours to analyze, describe, and complain – we also feel compelled to subvert this alienated reality.
This is one more example of how the only difference between the left and the right is that the left, thanks to its liberal image, can get away with what the right can only dream of.
We aren’t surprised to be deprived of some rights and liberties granted by the State until they are used as an effective weapon against the established (dis)order created by it. Let this serve as an example for those persons naive enough to believe in this fragile illusion of rights and who are immobilized when the State takes them away. Burgeoise freedom is freedom that doesn’t fuction on liberated minds, and we can be sure that what we are able to put on the air we will be able to win the struggle.
This is why we are asking for help from other radio stations, that you express your opposition however you see fit and take this on as part of your own struggle for continuity y against the power-hungry State.
