More than 250,000 people have registered their support for the bid to host the 2012 Olympics in London

The latest high profile supporters of the bid are the The Muslim Council of Britain which has pledged its support for a London Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in 2012 with Iqbal Sacranie, Secretary General of the MCB officially announcing the involvement of as much of the London Muslim Community as possible. He has called on all Muslims to sign up and help swell the numbers to the Million people wanted by July. More than 10,000 people registered on "London 2012 day" which was held on 20 December.

The signatures will then be put before the International Olympic Committee ahead of their decision as to who should host the games.
