Arabs for Peace!

Arabs and Moslems in Support of Israel By Nonie Darwish

Who are we?
We are Arabs and Moslems who believe…

a.. We can support the State of Israel and the Jewish
religion and still treasure our Arab and Islamic culture.

b.. There are many Jews and Israelis who freely
express compassion and support for the Palestinians.
It is time that we Arabs express reciprocal compassion
and support.

c.. The existence of the State of Israel is a fact that
should be accepted by the Arab world.

d.. Israel is a legitimate state that is not a threat
but an asset in the Middle East.

e.. Every major World religion has a center of gravity.
Islam has Mecca, and Judaism certainly deserves its
presence in Israel and Jerusalem.

f.. Diversity should not be a virtue only in the USA,
but should be encouraged around the world.
We support a diverse Middle East with protection
for human rights, respect and equality under the law
to all minorities including Jews and Christians.

g.. Palestinians have several options but are deprived
from exercising them because of their leadership,
the Arab League and surrounding Arab and Moslem
countries who do not want to see Palestinians live in
harmony with Israel.

h.. If Palestinians want democracy they can start
practicing it now.

i.. We stand firmly against suicide/homicide terrorism
as a form of Jihad.

j.. We are appalled by the horrific act of terror against
the USA on 9/11/2001.

k.. Arab media should end the incitement and
misinformation that result in Arab street rage and
violence.

l.. We are eager to see major reformation in how
Islam is taught and channeled to bring out the best in
Moslems and contribute to the uplifting of the human
spirit and advancement of civilization.

m.. We believe in freedom to choose or change one’s
Religion.

n.. We cherish and acknowledge the beauty and
contributions of the Middle East culture, but recognize
that the Arab/Moslem world is in desperate need of
constructive self-criticism and reform.

We are NOT:

a.. Anti-Islam, Anti-Arab, confrontational or hateful.
We remember with deep sadness and respect the
brave Arabs, known and unknown, who were killed
or severely punished for promoting peace with Israel;
a special thanks to President Anwar Sadat of Egypt
who was killed at the hands of Militant and Radical
Islamists after he signed the peace treaty with Israel.

We salute and commend Arab and Moslem writers,
scholars and speakers, who found the strength,
commitment and honesty in their hearts to speak out
in support of Israel. We thank you for being the
pioneers that you are and for holding such
sophisticated and advanced views in the realm of Arab
and Moslem thinking. You are inspiring us all.

ARABS AND MOSLEMS WHO WISH
TO POST THEIR VIEWS IN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL
CAN DO SO BY EMAILING US.
WE WILL THEN POST THEM ANONYMOUSLY,
IF THEY WISH.

A spirit of Tolerance…

This is a plea to all the good and wise Muslims and
their religious leaders and Imams around the World to
bring out the best in Islam and start a reformation
movement and the re-interpretation of the Koran in the
spirit of tolerance and acceptance of our cousins the
Jewish people and their rights to their land of Israel.

As all Arab children (I was born and raised as a
Muslim) our education never included the obvious
honoring of the Koran to the children of Israel.
The Koran is filled with such Suras supporting Israel.
It is our choice to bring out the goodness in the Koran
through our behavior as Muslims towards our cousins
the Jewish people. We need to extend our hand to
Israel in peace. They are desperate for peace.
The world is waiting to see the Arab well known
generosity through our courage to overcome our fears.
Israel’s hand has been extended towards us for a long
time. Let us not ignore it any longer. God’s blessings
will cover the whole Middle East area and will bless our
children when we stop the hate and start a new era of
cooperation and friendship…..

It was about time that we arabs were allowed to speak in favour of Israel, there are bad people in Israel, but so there are in arab countries. We must support the right of Israel to exist and to defend itself againtst the killing of its citizens as a way to reach the peace in the Middle East.

Greetings,

Jamal

Do, do follow the suggested links. You will then find out that such speakers such as;

Brigitte Gabriel - FROM LEBANON & ISRAEL
NOW A PROUD AMERICAN

N O N I E D A R W I S H - EDUCATED IN PALESTINIAN SCHOOLS
AND NOW A SUPPORTER OF ISRAEL

DR. DOV PERETZ ELKINS - EX-LIBERAL NOW CONSERVATIVE
IN AFTERMATH OF 9-11 EVENT

etc, bleeding etc....

Do their supporting of Israel at a price!!!!!

See below:

Speakers' rates range, generally speaking, from $1,000 to $5,000 per engagement.
The specific rate for a particular speaker depends on a variety of different factors, such as: How well-known and in-demand is the speaker; the event itself; the travel time and distance; the length of his/her participation; the number of people expected; and the like.
EYEWITNESS SPEAKERS will discuss each speaker’s rates with those inquiring and will make every attempt to accommodate your budget.
Speakers will gladly discount their rates to a minimum honorarium or pro-bono when speaking to college students on campus. This can be done, schedule permitting, when speakers are visiting a particular community for another speaking engagement

So much for committment to peace, committment to a profit more likely

But in the mission statement absolutely NO condemnation of the illegal occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and the human rights abuses against the Palestinians.

So how is this group expected to be taken seriously. Obviously, Israelis are the only people who feel pain. The Palestinians ENJOY the daily humiliation they face under occupation. Ah, the pleasure of feeling an army boot pressed against my face.

If you pay someone enough money, they'll say anything. The ISM and Jewish activists pay for themselves to travel, to visit Palestine in solidarity, and to work for the liberation of one people, so both peoples can live in peace.

Anti-Zionist is right on! They're only doing it for money - Noam Chomsky's books are given away free, they're all really different and he never just repeats himself, and so on.

Hermes, the reason I expect they don't "condemn" the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza is firstly that no such occupation exists, having ended in the 1990s, and most Palestinians now living under PA-control, secondly the reinvasions, reoccupations and Israeli military security arrangements are to thwart terrorists that like killing Jews and if the PA stopped the terrorists they would not occur, and thirdly the only reason Israel is occupying those territories in the first place, and continues to 'occupy' them, is that the Arabs refuse a peaceful negotiation and the recognition of Israel's right to exist, and instead attack her constantly.

Wow

Wow, j, I've never seen anyone contradict themselves so succinctly in such a short space of time.

'Hermes, the reason I expect they don't "condemn" the occupation of the West Bank and Gaza is firstly that no such occupation exists, having ended in the 1990s'

'thirdly the only reason Israel is occupying those territories in the first place, and continues to 'occupy' them, is that the Arabs refuse a peaceful negotiation and the recognition of Israel's right to exist'

I've been there, you plonker, and I've seen the occupation. I've seen Palestinian farmers, and fellow western peace activists, beaten by the Israeli soldiers. I've seen ill people needing to get to hospital turned back at checkpoints. In Qalqilia, the Israelis have actually SURROUNDED IT WITH A WALL.

Yes, I saw a distinct lack of militiary occupation...I guess the soldiers and jeeps and tanks were just cunning Palestinian terrorists in disguise, and the bullets fired over my head were simply a hallucination caused by a dodgy felafel.

J, I suggest you go learn the truth on the ground, rather than just stating what you wish were the case.
