The close ties between the Reagan and Bush Administrations with Saddam Hussein during the Iran-Iraq war. The use of gas against the Iranians and the Kurds. The weapons of mass destruction and the money behind them. Finally the invasion of Kuwait, the first Gulf war, the UN sanctions against Iraq and their effects on the civilian population.
