Pinochet-House Arrest Lifted

It seems that the house arrest ordered against Pinochet by judge Guzmán has been lifted after an appeal by Pinochet's lawyers.

Unfortunatly, it seems like once again Pinochet might escaped prosecution....

the chilean ex-dictator Pinochet was arrested yesterday in connection with the kidnapping of nine dissidents and the killing of one during the so called Condor Operation. Yesterday's sentence made Pinochet the first to be sentenced in Southamerica for crimes committed by the alliance of southamerica military regimes, that are responsible for thousands of killings of those who opposed dictatorship during the 70s.

The arrest was ordered yesterday by the judge Juan Guzmán Tapia, but now it seems that the order has been stopped by Pinochet's lawyers, although is still no clear whether their appeal is definitely accepted or not, all seems to point to Pinochet escaping again.
