John Tyndall arrested

Tyndall arrested over BNP inquiry

The founding chairman of the British National Party has been arrested as part of a police inquiry following the screening of a BBC documentary.

A party spokesman said John Tyndall, 70, of Brighton, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of incitement to commit racial hatred.

A twelfth man was arrested today by West Yorkshire Police.

The 45-year-old was detained on Tuesday outside the force's area on the same charge.

Criminal damage

West Yorkshire Police refused to disclose where the latest arrest was made.

In July, the BBC documentary Secret Agent featured covertly-filmed footage of BNP activists.

Nine men from West Yorkshire and another man from Leicester have been arrested and freed on bail.

Seven of the men had been held variously in connection with suspected racially aggravated public order offences, conspiracy to commit criminal damage and possession of a firearm.

Two men, both from Keighley, were arrested in September on suspicion of conspiracy to commit criminal damage.

A 24-year-old man from Leicester was detained on Monday on suspicion of incitement to commit racial hatred.

A BNP spokesperson said Mr Tyndall was arrested following a speech he made in Burnley, Lancashire.

Arresting political opponents - Now where have we seen that before. Nazi germany and stalins Russia. The Fascists aren't these grass roots nationalists, they've already bypassed the no platform stance and are running the country.

Blair and his cronies are nothing less then Brown Shirts.

Peter

"grass roots nationalists" - !!!!!

What a euphemism for racist thugs! I guess all the black and Asian people who are attacked following far right activity in their area will agree with your analysis.

Griffin et al were not nicked for being the government's "political opponents" - they're not noble dissidents, fuckwit.

They were nicked for inciting racial hatred, which, as a racist party, the BNP does all the time and IS NOT NICE.

Geddit? No, you probably don't. Not my problem.

Free speech MEANS or should mean free speech for people we don't like.

As for violence against Muslims/Asians, what has the BNP done that's remotely like what Blair and Bush have done in Iraq and Afghanistan??

Have Tyndall and Griffin ever killed over 100,000 Muslims??

Let's keep a sense of proportion. Yes, they are obnoxious, but Blair and Hoon are more so.

And let's be more aware of our vanishing freedom.
