Anni and Lindis

Tony Hillier | 08.12.2004 21:19 | Anti-militarism | Culture | Education | World

As "Coachnap" takes another step, Tony Hillier pays poetic tribute to Anni and Lindis who work tirelessly for accountability of American Bases.

taken in for questioning

Anni and Lindis are at it again
exploits explained on our cosy screen
it makes you want to scream
for Peace’s sake listen

chaining and chanting and climbing
coppers their fingers crunching
while cosy we curl in our beds
coppers their fingers crunching
abusing their protests so cool
whilst the nearest we get to hot water
is that in our bottles rubber flabby

Anni and Lindis are at it again
exploits explained on our cosy screen
none hearing the whisper we scream
for Peace’s sake listen

they know that without them we’re with them
in a strange conundrum ‘tis true
is it true we remember they’re doing it
for that complexity that is meandyou?
Is it true?
What’s it to you?
