Marks and Spencers Picket Arrested!

Action is Needed | 05.12.2004 01:19 | Social Struggles

In a shocking twist of events, on Saturday 4th December 10 members of the Marks and Spencers Picket were arrested by the Greater Manchester Police.........

10 People, out of a picket of about 40 people were bundled into the back of Police vans and taken to different stations across Manchester.

It was infact, an unprovoked arrest and as a witness to what happened the Police did infact use unreasonable force.

I have tried phoning the Police tonight to find out whats happened to these people, many of whom we all know but have failed to find out whats going on.

This is disgusting seeing as though other stalls were taking place on Market street, an SWP and CND stall and neither of them got any grief.

I think we should all ralley behind the Marks and Spencers Picket, regardless of our differences with the RCG and show our Solidarity with them, seeing as though the so-called Palestine Solidarity Campaign would rather sit in the Friends Meeting House on Mount street and talk about helping the Palestinians and every now and then hold a meeting or two.

It is also by time that PSC Manchester actually get off their back sides and do something because it wont be to long before they have Zionists turning up to their stalls and shouting abuse.

Maybe people could turn up to the next Palestine Solidarity Campaign meeting which are usually held on the first Wednesday of each month, at the friends meeting house (7.00 pm) and ask them why they do not support the Picket when the picket is being attacked.
