Thank You...
... to all the people and groups who joined forces to throw an Indymedia party last Saturday. It was the best birthday present ever - and the funds go towards our new server. Thanks to everybody and see you at the next party!

So many different people and groups were involved in this party that I'm almost sure I forgot someone - please add comments!
Fun-Da-Mental, Rhythms of Resistance, The Rub, Penny Rimbaud, The Unpeople, The Internationalz, Angel played for free - wasn't there another band?
Big thumbs up for peace-not-war, who organised the lineup. Some pieces were even special indymedia songs - thanks!
RampArt people helped setting up, and preparing. The crowd from St. Georges Church gave us the most amazing venue, an ex-church turned theatre turned party venue.
They cooked great food, looked after security and logistics, lighting and stage, helped clearing up, and were generally very good humoured while working at the party. Lots of people turned up, some waited patiently for up to 45 minutes in the queue outside, and due to confusion at the door, Rhythms of Resistance even paid to get in - that's more solidarity than expected!
Indymedia people from cambridge, london, lancaster and more helped run the party, but we couldn't have done it without everybody else.
Many encouraged indymedia to carry on - well with the new server we certainly will. Thanks again!

why do indymedia people hide their faces?

lss paranoid indymedia activists
Look, don't tell me nobody from Indymedia has the courage to go on this website - what is Indymedia, a secret society?
Any secret agent from Mossad, the CIA or MI6 knows who you are I'd imagine so what's the point of concealing your identity??
Anyway - thanks for the party - but I just don't get it. You're not an egotist - I mean what an awful photo above - badly composed and marginally better that a blank sheer of paper ;-)
You can always tell a spook - they hate to be photograped. So why the paranoia??

Also next time I see you I'll be sure to take a lot of photos of you if you want and up load them here, would that make you feel better?
As for people not liking their photos up, well a lot of people feel like this these days, and with the level of state repression that people have to deal with it's not suprising...
Pete -- here is an idea, why don't you start actually reporting anti-war stuff you go on in Sheffield to this site? You could write some text, take some photos, upload it, you know, make a positive contribution...
Also perhaps you should try going on a demo, ideally a non-legal one, and taking a lot of photos, see what reaction you get from people -- then when you come across anyone telling you that they don't like you taking their photo you can tell them they are paranoid and that they shouldn't worry, I'm sure you will convince them of the errors of their ways...
