two very special speakers from Venezuela are in London next week, come and meet with them and hear what life as a grassroots activist is like in a self-declared "revolutionary" country...
Tuesday 7th December
UCL Social Forum and Hands Off Venezuela present a discussion/workshop on "Revolutionary Education", with speakers from Venezuela and the UK. 7pm in the Jeremy Bentham room, University College London, Gower St, WC1 (main building, next to library; nearest tube Goodge St). Amongst those taking part will be Oscar Negrin, headmaster of the Juan Bautista Alberdi (occupied) school in the Pastora barrio of Caracas. Alex Higgins will be talking about alternative education in the UK, as will members of Libertarian Education (to be confirmed). There will be a workshop afterwards where we shall be able to develop some of the themes raised.
Wednesday 8th December
Questions and answers with Oscar Negrin (headmaster of the Juan Bautista Alberdi occupied school in Caracas) at the National Union of Journalists headquarters, 308 Grays Inn Rd, WC1 (opposite the Lucas Arms pub, nearest tube Kings Cross) from 7pm.
