Take action (today and tomorrow in Hebden and Manchester) to stop Calderdale Council auctioning off Hebden Bridge's Pitt Street Swimming Pool at manchester airport tomorrow.

Stop the Sale of Pitt Street!

Calderdale Council are planning to auction off the old Swimming Pool in Pitt Street, Hebden Bridge. The auction is happening tomorrow Thursday 30 November, 12 noon at Manchester Airport

Calderdale haven’t consulted either:
- Hebden Royd Town Council
- Any Local Parish Councils
- Hebden Bridge’s Calderdale Councillors or
- The People of Hebden Bridge

Not only is the way of the sale highly undemocratic and against the Council’s own policies, it is also against its duty to secure best value. There is an offer by a local consortium that would secure up to 19 local jobs and provide 4 affordable homes. But apparently the council aren’t interested.

We can stop this sale going ahead!

Calderdale’s official Auditor is Ian Lucker from Price Waterhouse phone 0113 2894137

Calderdale’s Chief Executive is Paul Sheeham

phone 01422 393061

These people have the necessary power to withdraw Pitt Street from the auction.

Ring them up today telling them why this shouldn’t happen – and be clear that the building has to be withdrawn from auction by tomorrow 12 o'clock!

there'll be a demontration outside Pitt Street tomorrow morning 7.30 - drop by on your way to work!

Let's stop the fat cats

flogging our town!
