Ater Arafat ...What future for Palestine?

The Gloucester Room in the Swansea Guildhall is the venue for a public meeting in support of the people of Palestine.The meeting starts at 2.30pm on sunday the 5th December.Among the speakers will be John Rose ,author of the Myths of Zionism,John Drake who has recently returned from the occupied West Bank,Dr Khaled Ghrayeb who will talk about the shocking health and medical situation experienced by many living under the Israeli occupation.De Murphy a Swansea human rights activist will introduce the film "The Sun Doesn't Shine in This Camp"about densely packed Balata refugee camp.All welcome!

Is there anything for the working class to win out of the Palestinians "liberation", I do not think so...

Dear Mary,
In answer to your question..Firstly ,the working class is international and for over 50 years the people of Palestine,and yes most of them are workers or small farmers have been expelled from their homes, suffered humiliation upon humiliation and have been oppressed at the point of a gun or through the laws of the Israeli state.
Secondly it has become clear to millions of workers across the world that the USA and its imperial interests in the Middle East are behind the oppression of the Palestinian people.It is the US that funds the Israeli state and has enabled its army to become one of the largest in the world.The Palestinians have earned the support of the left and anti capitalists across the wold by their stubborn refusal not to be written out of history.The Zionists claimed that Palestine was a land without a people but that was never the case.In order to declare the state of Israel around a million Palestinians had to be expelled from their homeland and this was and is a cime against humanity which is another reason for supporting the people of Palestine.
A victory for the Palestinians will be a victory over the arms dealers ,the oil magnates,the military machines of the US and Israel and the strategic interests of US capital.From such a victory the whole of the international working class would gain.......as would all the peoples of the Middle East .
