This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, Spanish National Radio, China Radio International, and Radio Havana Cuba.
From NETHERLANDS- An analysis of the Presidential election in Ukraine which was widely disputed, though Russia was quite satisfied with the results. Then a press review on the worry that the anti-Muslim activities in the Netherlands may spread into Germany. A former Israeli Paliament member and peace activist gives insights into Colin Powell’s final visit to the Middle East.
From SPAIN- The Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero and Egypt's leader met to discuss the Palestinian situation and Zapatero’s plans for an Alliance of Civilizations between W Europe and the Muslim nations. Venezuelan President Chavez also visited Zapatero this week, lending support to the proposed alliance. Then a press review about the accusation that the Spanish government, under former Prime Minister Aznar, had been directly involved in the failed coup in Venezuela 2 years ago. Bush's presence at the APEC summit in Chile was met with large demonstrations.
From CHINA- China is holding back Western companies from its tobacco market, the largest on the planet. Iran agreed to halt development of high-grade plutonium, but maintains its right to refuse to dismantle its equipment. The Chinese President was a big hit in Cuba where he was awarded a prize and shared a podium with Fidel Castro.
From CUBA- A viewpoint on Bush’s first trip outside the US since his reelection- his presence in Chile was met with public riots and conflicts with Chilean security forces.

If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
