So what does the Bush victory mean in terms of the threat to world peace? This Thursday, 25th November at an open meeting in Slough Michael Meacher MP, controversial ex-minister will be answering questions and setting out his views on the implications for relations between the west and the Muslim world following Bush's re-election.

Hard hitting and provocative on issues from 9/11 to nuclear weapons, Meacher is an outspoken critic of the current US administration. Highly critical of UK subservience to US foreign and defence policy, his time as a minister in the Blair administration means he brings a perspective based on intimate knowledge of the UK government. Known as a maverick, he will bring a perspective that will surprise.

The evening will give a rare opportunity to question someone who has been involved in international negotiations at the highest level, and for people to give their own views on our collective future following the US election and appointment of a new even harder line adminstration.

Meacher will be give his views as he delivers the inaugural 'Fenner Brockway Memorial Lecture' at 8pm at St Mary's Church, Church St, Slough, Thursday 25th November. Entry is free (donations welome). For directions see
