Keep Government Line on Falluja,
Iraq Media Body Says

...after reading that from:
 http://www.globalpolicy.org/security/issues/iraq/media/2004/1111medcomm.htm

there isn't much else to do than exclaim: "the dictator is dead, long live the dictators!!"

what is the current state of affairs for grass-roots media in iraq?

what can be done to help?

who knows what?

quote from the link above:

""....news organisations should "guide correspondents in Falluja ... not to promote unrealistic positions or project nationalist tags on terrorist gangs of criminals and killers". It also asked media to "set aside space in your news coverage to make the position of the Iraqi government, which expresses the aspirations of most Iraqis, clear".

"We hope you comply ... otherwise we regret we will be forced to take all the legal measures to guarantee higher national interests," the statement said, without elaborating"...""

What are those "higher" national interests? Are they interests higher than the Iraqi state, such as foreign companies and missions? Are they referring to something very high up in the state of Iraq?

how can this be true?

what the hell is going on?

So, that is what democracy looks like then, right?
