REVOLTING IN PRAGUE - Undercurrents- 23mins
In September 2000 The World Bank and IMF staged their 55th annual meeting in Prague. Over 15,000 people from 30 countries travelled to the East European city intent on shutting down the meeting of the Worlds leading capitalists. This documentary records the techniques of the various groups over three days. Despite police and army using tear gas, water cannons and other military hardware, and making over four hundred arrests riot police failed to quell the spirit of dissent.
Trapese Roadshow – The Travelling Infotainment show comes to Manchester. 45 mins
Trapese is a popular education collective set up as part of the buildup to mobilisations against the G8 through the Dissent! Network. TRAPESE offers workshops, a show, pub-quizes, videos etc based on the issues related to the G8 (climate change, oil, war, food, poverty, Africa...).
In addition to this show, there are Trapese / Dissent Workshops at Merci on the 15th and 16th of December. More information www.trapese.org or www.dissent.org.uk

JUNE 18th -Undercurrents- 25mins –
Although many people see Seattle (2000) as the first big anti-capitalist protest it was arguably the J18 - Carnival against capitalism the previous year which kick started the anti-capitalist movements. On June 18th 1999 there were protests all around the world. In Britain tens of thousands of demonstrators, some wearing pinstripe suits, turned out to shut down the City of London
