The premier screening of Manchester based UHC Collective’s Camp X-Ray
film will be showing at the Dancehouse Theatre, Oxford Road, Manchester on
Sunday 12th December at 7.30 pm.

The documentary film by Damien Mahoney hopes to reignite the debate
about Guantanamo Bay at a time when international scrutiny of the camp is
steadily intensifying.

Jai Redman's ‘This is Camp X-Ray’ installation - a meticulous working
replica of the original camp in Cuba, stood in Hulme for nine days. The
documentary film features the build up to the camp and its
construction, and then records the shocked/excited/bewildered responses of the local
community to this unique form of protest. The film also explores the great range
of emotions felt by the volunteer detainees and guards during their
participation in the project.

The film features emotional interviews with the sisters of Jamal
Al-Harith, a Manchester resident who was recently released from Guantanamo Bay.
After the screening there will be a discussion with a panel of special guest
speakers, including the artist, director and a representative of the
detainees.

This event promises to be a night not worth missing – we look forward
to seeing you down there.
