Today outside Parliament 30 women locked on to the fence outside the House of Lords as a Non Violent Direct Action against proposed Labour legislation.
Joined by a number of men supporters the women showed much courage and determination in their refusal to bow down down to this vindictive piece of government spite.
This latest hunt protest is one of many hundreds that have taken place accross the country. The campaigners say they managed to padlock themselves before police noticed in a peaceful protest against a ban. Kitty Bishop, 18, from the Beaufort Hunt, accused MPs of "prejudice and ignorance" in trying to end a system which had worked for centuries.
"They are not listening to us," she said. "We just want to prove a point and let them know we're serious about it."
Susie Sanders of the Exmoor hunt, said regulation was the only sensible solution because of the strong feelings involved and the difficulty police would have in enforcing a ban.
The Metropolitan Police have made no arrests and officers are currently talking to the protesters. A spokeswoman said it was a peaceful protest which had not breached security.
We are not calling for any more to join the protest at this stage but do encourage the interested to visit the Countryside Alliance webpage for further details of other protests.
