Private healthacre for Cannon Fodder

It appears that nothing is too good for ‘our boys and girls’. With psychiatric services in the NHS crumbling the government have gone private for it’s cannon fodder.

The Priory Hospital in Purdown Bristol provides treatment for many who can afford a luxurious alternative to the realities on the NHS. Patients at the priory receive their care and support in luxurious surroundings. They have their meals served to them in a chandelier bejeweled dining room. Expert nursing and medical experts abound. The price for this quality of care is about 2000 quid a week, and the military thinks it’s a good deal.

Sources within the priory have revealed that the dept of defense has a contract with the Priory group. Currently military personal are indeed undergoing treatment at the priory. It is not thought that any soldiers from Iraq are currently at the Priory in Bristol but the group have hospitals near many of the training camps and bases around the country.

It is interesting to speculate on the reasons for the government choosing private healthcare for the victims of its policies. Perhaps it is a reaction to the large number of suicides amongst our boys and girls serving in Iraq? Out of about 75 British soldiers killed in Iraq the number killed by hostile actions is only around 30. Many deaths are due to friendly fire, accidents and ‘incidents’. Many sources indicate a number of these incidents may indeed be suicides. Could it be that this policy could be an attempt to keep this fact out of the public eye? The priory is patronized by the rich and famous who no doubt value the high security their private asylums offer. It appears the government may value this too.
