This picket obviously coincided with Armistice Day and the associated ceremonies at the Cenotaph. The Countryside Alliance had been liasing with the Western Front Association (the organisation that organises the events at the Cenotaph) and the Metropolitan Police to ensure that the solemnity of the occasion was in no way compromised. The Western Front Association were very supportive of our picket taking place on the understanding that it did not not affect their ceremony and it was wonderful to see so many old soldiers supporting the demonstration.
