Town and city centre protests at 5pm Tuesday 9th November to protest at the attack on Fallujah

Scottish CND and others are calling for city and town centre protests about the attack on Fallujah which started today.

US troops have completly encircled the town and are starting to move into its outskirts. Large numbers of civilian and troop casualties are expected in the house-to-house fighting that will follow.

Already thousands of residents have fled but now the US forces are refusing to let any male between the ages of 15-50 to leave or enter the city.

100,000 people have already died in Iraq since the start of the invasion.

Meet from 5pm in town centres.

In Glasgow meet in George Square

Hello
Scottish CND's bulk emailer is down at the moment - please help us by circulating this as widely as possible. Many thanks!

Protests have continued in Glasgow and Edinburgh and other places in Scotland on Monday and Tuesday evenings. Over 100 people have attended each event – in Glasgow there were close to 200 people and speakers included Rose Gentle, the mother of Gordon Gentle who was killed earlier in the year in Iraq. Rose is due to leave for Downing Street to lobby the Prime Minister tomorrow.

At the vigil tonight in Glasgow it was agreed to continue meeting in George Square at 5pm every evening this week in the run up to the march called by Scottish CND.
