Alternative Academics in Oxford

Interested in challenging orthodox, mainstream academia? A new series of workshops is starting this weekend: the Alternative Academics. The idea is to discuss about alternative topics usually excluded from mainstream academia, in an alternative format as well (no speaker meeting where the speaker is on a platform and tells you what to think). I won't say more about it; just come and take part in it!
The first one will be about Permaculture. This is a good chance to know about a innovative way of looking at how humans design their lives, borrowing patterns from the natural systems to make our lifestyles more sustainable.
Sunday November 7th
3-5 pm
Wadham College, Old Refectory
"Permaculture is the use of ecology as the basis for designing integrated systems of food production, housing appropriate technology and community development. It offers a practical, creative approach to the problems of diminishing resources and threatened life support systems now facing the world."

The second one will be about Post Autistic Economics, on Sunday November 21st, same place, same time. I'll tell you more about it later! ;-)
