Support at Asylum Hearing, Wednesday 3rd
FWD: | 28.10.2004 23:37 | Anti-racism | Repression
In December 2002 with much fanfare, several Algerian men were arrested on terrorism charges in Edinburgh, allegedly for plotting an attack on the Hogmanay celebrations. All the men were innocent, the evidence amounted to a scribbled on tourist map, and now they face deportation.
An asylum application by one of the men, Fouad Lasnami, will be heard on Wednesday 3rd November at the Immigration Court, Eagle Building, 215 Bothwell Street, Glasgow.
Support is being organised inside and outside the court. Experience has shown that public and press attendance at the hearings can make a difference.
If you wish to show your support, please assemble outside the court at 9:30am.
People wishing to travel from Edinburgh should call 07719822164 for travel info and those in Glasgow can call 07870286632
