ЕСФ в Лондоне: "чеченский" семинар (коротко)

В рамках Европейского социального форума в Лондоне прошёл семинар, посвящённый войне в Чечне. Многие ожидали увидеть на нём бывшего члена масхадовского правительства Чечни Ахмеда Закаева и журналистку Анну Политковскую, которая даже была заявлена в программе форума. Но они не пришли.

Политковская не пришла потому что улетела. Она приезжала в Лондон в связи с выпуском своей книжки в Англии. Поучаствовала в презентации, выступила по телевидению и, как говорили в кулуарах форума, сославшись на плохое состояние здоровья (вспмоним: во время бесланских событий Политковскую отравили, она была при смерти), улетела.

Закаев, по словам организаторов семинара, до самого последнего момента собирался приехать на форум в сопровождении известной английской актрисы Ванессы Рэдгрейв, прославившейся также в качестве многолетней политической активистки левого толка. Однако, кампания клеветы в российских СМИ, развёрнутая накануне, подстроенная немногочисленная демонстрация в Лондоне против Закаева, о которой российская пресса трубила чуть ли не как о выражении всеобщей воли всех "антиглобалистов" - что, конечно, неправда, - а также недавняя попытка поджога дома, где находился Закаев, заставили их отказаться от идеи прибыть на форум по соображениям безопасности.

Однако семинар о войне в Чечне оказался интересным и информативным и без них.

Мы подробнее напишем об этом позже, потому что сейчас в Лондоне начинается большая демонстрация против войны и у демонстрантов уже начались проблемы с полицией: часть активистов, прибывших на демонстрацию со стороны университета, полиция не выпускает из поездов. События требуют нашего присутствия сразу в нескольких местах, так что к теме "чеченского" семинара мы вернёмся позже.

Teraz okazuje się że rząd rosyjski zapłacił przedstawicieli ruchu "Iduczi Wmesto" (nie wiem jakt o pisać po polsku) żeby byłi na Forum. W Rosji, telewizja pokazali ich na demonstracji w Londynie a pokazali całą demonstrację jako "antyterroristyczna". W tym samym czasie, Zakayev, który miał wystąpić na ESF, dowiedział się że są agenty FSB w Londynie, prawdopodobnie na ESF i że będzie niebezpecznie wystąpić. Tylko że nie miał rację - FSB próbował go zabić w swojim domu.

Russian powers took an innovative approach with
covering ESF in London in mainstream media.
They organised their own demonstration, demanding extradiction of Chechen
resistance spokesperson Ahmed Zakaev from UK to Russia.
Most reactionary channel, ORT gave a coverage
where this was claimed to be the line
of the ESF. "Unstability in oil-production areas is
beneficial for big oil corporations - this is why they
have manipulated US and UK governements to harbour
terrorists such as Ilyas Ahmedov, who has refugee
status in Washington, and Ahmed Zakaev, who has
refugee status in London...." actually whole 20 000 strong
anti-war demonstration was presented as an "anti-terrorist"
one as well. Opposition to war in Iraq and protectionist
wing of the anti-globalist movement are already in line
with Russian state interests, and this way they could gain even
more propaganda benefit.

"Anti-terrorist" demonstration seems to have mainly
consisted of members of "Putin-Yugend" Iduschie
Vmeste ("Those who march together"), whose travel
from minor Russian cities to London was financed
by the governement. Other Russian delegates in ESF promised
to write about this operation more in detail when
they come back.

In connection with this, very clumsy assasination
attempts were organised against both Zakaev and
former FSB agent Aleksandr Litvienko. Molotov cocktails
were thrown through their windows, but fires were quickly
extinhuished.

"Putin-Yugend" may have been paid for these assaults,
but more likely it is just FSB agents trying their best
to make their assaults to look like total amateur work of
"black bloc" or whatever, who are eager to
put claimed "anti-terrorist" message of ESF to practice.

Alltogether pretty clever, and big part of the Russian public
moderately sympathetic with "anti-globalism" will swallow
this shit due to lack of counter-information available.
It seems like after the change of the course
in Russian politics, more skilled people are returning
to FSB ranks from the private sector who recruited all of them
in the beginning of the 90's, replacing the morons
who have ruled there last 10 years.

What comes to "real" anarchists, we are distributing
second book published with help of Litvienko's testimonies,
"Lubyanka Organised Crime Community", in A-distro
(  http://a-distro.avtonom.org). Although it has little
to do with anarchism, and being loyal to oligarch
Berezovsky Litvienko for sure tells only part of the truth,
it is useful reading and we feel important to provide
it to people in Russia, since Russian edition was almost
completely confiscated by FSB. I am not sure if it has
been published in English.

In the end, some questions could be raised:

1) Did official ESF organisation knew about the "anti-terrorist" event?
2) If they knew, were they doing anything to prevent it?
3) Being the ship of fools ESF is, what means do we have to prevent
it to be manipulated such a way by our main enemies in the future (I bet
not very many)?
