Sales Reps make bad Revolutionaries. Discuss.

As someone who attended the demo this Sunday, but, as someone who didn't see the ensuing ruck on and in front of the stage afterwards (due to the fact it was sheeting down with rain and I was very tired, wet and hungry), I wasn't in the slightest bit surprised by the events that unfolded as I read about them afterwards.

Someone earlier today posted an item on one of the Newswires asking people to get along and be inclusive etc.
Nice idea in theory - in practice, history tells us another story.

I would recommend to any readers of this item that they find and read a biography of Lenin.
After this, you will start to appreciate the TRUE nature of the Russian so-called Revolution.

A comment made to me by a friend on this subject sums up the situation nicely I think.

"It's nice that they want to want to gatecrash your party, as it means they like what you're doing.
But, now you have to take the party somewhere else away from them".

The ESF is NOT the answer to all our ills, so, don't invest all of your time and effort into it like it is.
It is merely part of an ongoing process.
So, if the newspaper sellers want to hijack it, let them if that's what makes them happy.

Just take the party somewhere else instead.

Their thought patterns are cultish, outmoded and circular at best, no better than religious zealots.
This makes them FAR from revolutionary, but, at the same time dangerous and therefore not to be trusted.

Meanwhile, while they fret about gaining mainstream acceptance via the oh-so-compromised ballot box, the rest of us atheists can get on with the job of seeing things as they REALLY are, and coming up with practical, pragmatic solutions, with or without their self interested meddling.

And if they gatecrash again, you just keep on moving.
Eventually they may just get the message.

Just bear in mind that truly revolutionary minds come in many shapes and from many backgrounds.

Truly revolutionary minds don't NEED to spout the gospel according to whoever their central committee is, as they are perfectly capable of making their own decisions about things and drawing their own conclusions.

Truly revolutionary minds have the capacity take others' thoughts and feelings into consideration, not feeling the need to crush those that disagree with them, as they are very secure about their place in the scheme of things.

Generally, sales reps do NOT make good revolutionaries, as they are too busy selling things, rather than thinking about them.

So, to recap.

Move the party somewhere else, out of their reach.

Be creative.

Otherwise, how else do you expect to achieve freedom?
