ATHENS POLYTECHNIC SCHOOL OCCUPATION
IN SOLIDARITY WITH PRISONERS ON HUNGER STRIKE

Yesterday, October the 15th, we, anarchists and antiauthoritarians occupied the Polytechnic School as one more action of solidarity with the prisoners convicted as members of "revolutionary organization 17 November" who are on hunger strike against the special regime of confiniment* imposed on them. Dimitris Koufontinas, who is now in critical condition in Athens General Hospital began the hunger strike on the 18th of September, Christodoulos Xiros followed on the 25th, Iraklis Kostaris on October 2nd, Savvas and Vasilis Xiros on October 8 and Alexandros Giotopoulos today, 16 of October. Before them, Vasilis Tzortzatos had been on hunger strike for 43 days (from August 9 to September 20) and now announced he will participate in the new hunger strike as well. Since October 12, Christos Tsigaridas, convicted for actions of "ELA - Revolutionary Popular Struggle" also started a hunger strike.

We salute the occupation of the central building of Athens University and every action of solidarity with the prisoners on hunger strike.

We stand in solidarity with the hundreds of inmates in 7 prisons accross the country (Malandrino, Koridallos, Trikala, Larisa, Patra, Nafplio, Diavata) who refuse to receive prison food all last week, demanding better living conditions and the abolishment of the special regime of "white cells".

With the "white cells" democracy is attempting to physically exhaust the militants keeping as hostages and to de-construct their personality. It is attempting to terrorize all those who resist and to detter the desire for rebellion.

The state is systematically exterminating life in "white" and "normal" prison cells, in workplaces, at the borders and at the cops' road blockades, in psychiatric hospitals and schools...

The struggle against the "white cells" of democracy is an unseparable part of the struggle to destroy the state and any form of authority. It is a struggle for freedom...

The occupation of the Polytechnic School is self-organized space for counter-information and non-mediated resistance. The assembly of the occupation takes place everyday at 7pm.

FIRE TO ALL PRISON CELLS - "WHITE" OR "NORMAL"

* they are locked in underground cells, separate from all other prisoners and they can only walk outside, alone, in a small yard sourrounded and covered by barbed wire fence
