McDonald's demo in Lancaster

Today a group of people in Lancaster marked anti-McDonald's day by holding a protest outside our local branch.
Armed with eye-catching picture boards and a banner, we handed out hundreds of leaflets, informing many people of the darker side of McDonald's – exploitation of workers, environmental destruction, advertising unhealthy products to children, animal torture etc. Some local children got involved by taking some leaflets inside the store and leafleting customers, and others let off stink bombs inside the store – well, it couldn't have made it smell any worse.
Some other local kids were outraged that we were targetting their favourite eatery, and threw McDonald's burgers at us! Shows how good the food is when dedicated customers throw it away in the street. Our stall was mostly about the cruelty involved in the animal product industries, with information about the almost full-term foetuses left to die on the slaughterhouse floor when their mothers are disembowelled for burgers, the millions of male chicks thrown away or ground up alive by the egg industry every year, information about the effects of factory farming on the environment and so on. People were shocked to learn the real price of their burgers.
