London Rising Tide critical mass theme is London in 2050 when sea levels may be a tad higher than at present.

There were almost as many pigs as people on bikes.

Aimed at highlighting how big business and government are ignoring the massive threat of climate chaos and rising sea levels caused by the continued burning of fossil fuels in their frenzied "business as usual". Many costumes of a distinctly nautical flavour. The samba band was also out in force. Completely over the top police presence, Forward stupidity Team photographers

The critical mass is travelling between various climate chaos criminal's headquarters around the city but I only stayed for the start from Waterloo bridge.

PIGS?

It is perfectly stupid and really off-pissing for grown-up eople to refer to the police as pigs.
It is a childish attempt at an insult which totally ignores the facts that a) some police may be perfectly decent people and b) pigs are perfectly decent creatures. Stop it!

duh

pigs agreed

agreed. people will use any excuse to ignore the actual content, especially defamatory language - keep it neutral!

Yeah it's pretty offensive to poor harmless farm animals.

I've been on plenty of protests and seen the actions of many, many POLICE and in all those years, I've only ever spoken to ONE apparently decent copper. Is copper alright?

Yeh no need for the pigs comment - keep it grown up.

I've met alot of coppers in various cirmumstances and most have been just fine - of course this is just my experience.

PIGS

All Coppers are Bastards in my book, never met a nice one yet, and dont expect to. How can anyone who wants to be in a postion of power or authority (albeit limited i know)be alright? the very fact he/she wants to join the police makes them what they are protectors of the state............that said i totally agree that using the word pig to describe them seems childish.

misguided

My friend recruits police officers and may of them genuinly want to help their local communities, they are ordinary decent people working for a bad institution. I work for a horrible education system, does that mean I shouldn't be a teacher at all and actually try to help people? I've come across both lovely and violent police officers, just my experience, but i would say that if you don't ever expect to meet a decent police officer then you probably won't. All this generalising about huge groups of people is just too easy, and far too close to the generalising done by government and the tabloid press for my liking.

Lets be respectful

I just wanted to agree with Catherine. I also know some officers well. Like all groups, there are good ones and bad ones. If we are serious about changing how things are done, then it starts with respect for people and respect for the environment.

Great pics though!
