This week's show features stories from China Radio International, Radio Netherlands, and Radio Havana Cuba, the Voice of Russia.
From China- The US threatened to take its complaints about N Korea to the UN Security Council- N Korea and Russia both oppose this notion. The Russian government intends to sell off part of Lukos Oil's property for back taxes. China is rejecting the "peace talks" proposed by the Taiwan leader.
From Netherlands- Australia reelected Prime Minister John Howard, who ran on a strong anti-terror campaign- should Australia become the military force of the Pacific region? Then a press review covering the US presidential campaign, focusing on the importance of religion and French support to American voters.
From Cuba- Calls to oust US President Bush are widespread in the international realm, here’s what Kenya's Nobel Peace prize winner and 80% of Norway had to say. Israel has finally suspended a platoon commander for randomly killing a young Palestinian schoolgirl, while the army has expanded its attacks in N Gaza and continued violating Geneva conventions, according to the Red Cross. Then a Viewpoint on the history of the ever-expanding blockades on Cuba.
From Russia- Opposition parties in Italy want their troops withdrawn from Iraq, an international conference on Iraq, and UN forces to replace the American coalition. A commentary on the admissions last week by Paul Bremer, Dick Cheney, and the chief US weapons inspector that managed to vaporize the credibility of the US invasion of Iraq. Then an opinion on why Rumsfeld suprisingly admitted that there was no connection between Saddam Hussein and Al-Queda.

If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.
