CND volunteers wanted for ESF

CND fwd | 12.10.2004 19:30

CND volunteers needed to help at European Social Forum!

The ESF is a unique opportunity for CND to link up with peace and anti-war activists from around the world to build an international movement against war and nuclear weapons.

We urgently need people to help before and during the event.

Placard making

If you are in London on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th – day-time or evening - we need volunteers to come into the CND office, 162 Holloway Road, to help make placards for the Sunday demonstration. If you can spare an hour or two to do some placard making then please call Ruth on 020 7700 2350

At the European Social Forum

If you are going to be at the ESF then it would fantastic if you could drop by the CND stall and pick up some of our ‘A Peaceful world is possible’ leaflets which list all the peace events at the ESF and encourages people to get involved and join CND.

Our stall number is number 41 in block SC in Alexandra Palace, but if you can’t find the CND stall to collect leaflets then you can call Sophie on 07930235791 or Ruth on 07968420859 who will give you directions.

The Demonstration on Sunday 17th October

Sunday’s demonstration at the end of the ESF will have people from all over Europe marching together. The ESF and CND urgently need volunteers to steward to ensure that the demonstration is a success. If you are able to steward then please contact Ruth on 020 7700 2350

Hooray. Hooray. It's an activist Holiday

What tosh. The 'movement' doesn't really exist except as a middle class stunt. It's easy to make everything light and 'nice'. From the trots to the anarchists to the communists to the liberals - this is truly a bourgois movement and also part of the job creatioopn scheme for middle englnd. Rememember folks it's all for charidddeee. Do you think you are changing anything?

Still. It was nice meeting you all, IIt should be fun and I expect to enjoy myself thoroughly before moving back to Lancashire.

Been spending most of our lives
living in an activist paradise.
Cos networks are the power etc. etc.

Where Did that comment & all that Class Angst Come From Lindsey?

13.10.2004 15:02

I am upset. The Tracey Family are part of the 'movement'. Thunderbirds is affiliaited to the ESF. I dont understand all that intellectual stuff; what you on about?

Dad's middle class and runs a business (International Rescue), but I am just a worker and am very workin class now; I live in a council flat in Salford.

Give us a bell on 020 7930 9000 (Our London control centre), if you fancy a brew and Eccles cake.

Scott

Hmmm

I am riddled with angst. I like the idea of eccles cakes and tea. Do I get a chance to fly Thunderbird 2?

Only If You Make The Grade

T2 flyers must satisfy the following 50 requirements:

1. Be at least up to full astronaut standand.
2. Achieve max. score at space invaders - unassisted, or equivalent.
3. Do a solo handstand without getting the dizzies.
4. Disarm a nuclear warhead in precisly 4 minutes 59 seconds, live on camera.
5. Be a member of CND.
6. Wait ... I hear that oh so familiar ring ...

It's the emergency mission phone ...

Unsupervised kids playing with nuclear warheads down the park, again ... Must dash.

Thunderbirds are a GO GO! Woooooosssh!

Scott

Sorry Can't Talk About T2

Indymedia, quite rightly, wont allow it for security reasons.
