HEREFORD ROAD PLANS PROGRESS

j | 26.09.2004 18:09 | Ecology | World

For ages now, they've been trying to build a road around Hereford, causing yet further damage to the environment. Things now seem to be progressing now...this was taken from the Hereford Times...

A GOVERNMENT transport minister is due in Hereford next month to talk over the Rotherwas relief road project - but the local delegation doesn't know who's on the way.

Originally, Hereford MP Paul Keetch persuaded Roads Minister Tony McNulty to meet him and representatives from local politics and business.

But Mr McNulty was promoted within his transport portfolio during the recent government reshuffle and may send his replacement, MP Charlotte Atkins, instead, said Mr Keetch.

"It's important that ministers hear first hand from people about the need for a new access road. I want to make sure the three main political parties as well as business leaders are represented," he said.
