a person said he had been stopped today under the Terrorism Act 2000 cos he took two photos on his mobile phone..



He was in the vicinity of the Brighton Centre (where the Labour Conference is next week).
The police officer made him delete the pictures while he watched and handed him this:

"given the current threat level to this country from International terrorism" What threat level? How can that be determined? And I can't actually remember the last time there was a terrorist attack here anyway.

Also there is no law against taking photos here and the cops are certainly free to ask you to delete photos from your camera just as you are free to ask them to delete photos from theirs. But they don't have any authority to make you delete them. So don't be intimidated.
