Video: Massacre of Civilians in Fallujah

U.S. Army | 25.09.2004 00:40 | Indymedia | Repression | London | World

Retired Special Forces soldier Stan Goff comments: "The “tell” is in the audio. When the pilot asks permission to fire, he reports a large number of people… not armed people. People. And permission is granted instantly. This is an indication that the mission guidance is to shoot anyone who is in the street."

how does footage like this become available? is it leaked by army insiders? although i don't doubt the murderous and imperialist nature of the occupation, where is the evidence that it's genuine? (that's a sincere question, i'm not being facetious or rhetorical).

Source? Anybody care to claim responsibility for leaking this?

This video has been around for over two months

If you are waiting for a letter of probity from the US Government, I suggest you give up fairly soon. It is doubtful that there is going to be a rush to admit to this, if it is genuine.

Not only is there no mention of the individuals being armed but if they had been carrying any weaponry it would not have been anything substantial.

Compare with the apache video which appeared at the beginning of the year which was used in Fahrenheit 9/11 and clearly shows Iraqis being shot to pieces, presumably by 3.5inch armour piercing DU tipped rounds. The last man on the ground is acknowledged to be wounded before also being torn to shreds, clearly in breech of the Geneva Convention.

How does it become available? Who knows! But they aren't likely to be putting their hands up either!
