Archway regeneration?

Archway and Highbury Corner are the next targets of St Modwen ,the 'developers'
( overdevelopers perhaps )of Elephant & Castle and other identikit monstrodities.
The property development sector of this country is out of control. Everywhere I go i see identical high streets with buildings being pulled down or closed ( community centres and charities seem to be favourites here ) and replaced with expensive corporate gyms, yuppie flats, corporate art galleries, corporate supermarkets, and fucking car parks. In each case this will be accompanied by a fanfare of bullshit from the local council and its PFI partners in crime ( yes they are all crooks and fuckwits ) saying blah jobs, blah community benefits, and in each case the jobs will be nice little earners for a few professionals with contacts on the council and shit like shelf-filler for the rest of us. The MONEY DOES NOT TRICKLE DOWN - IT NEVER HAS. furthermore the ammount of building material necessary is highly environmentally friendly (as are supermarkets food miles, packing, car friendly practices ).
There is a public meeting at the Holborn campus, Archway on Thursday evening.
