Schools to be extended to 'free' parents to work

imprinted clone | 08.09.2004 13:33 | Analysis | Education

In order to 'free' parents to work longer hours school hours are to be extended to a 10 hour day. It makes sense "to keep children in a single, secure place throughout the day" apparently. Nice attitude, if a little North Korean.

Don't you just love forced economic growth? The more 'progress' we make the longer we have to work, the less we get to see our kids, cook food, read books etc. Now, to add to the wonderful convenience of microwaved junk and propagandist/distractionist tv, the State is going to raise our kids for us! Aren't they benevolent hey?

Schools and Childcare

Schools have always been the cheapest form of childcare going. With added enforced 'socialisation'. We didn't think they were for 'education' now did we? There would be far more flexible ways of doing that!

sounds too expensive...

...wouldn't it be more cost effective to put the kids on a ritalin drip and stick 'em in front of the TV?
