Many Councils occasionally "misse" a collection of the rubbish from their own bins, however it seems that BRENT Council is more unhygienic than other, or more often.
Since 23 August, a number of bins had not been emptied, and with the large number of visitors over the August Bank Holyday, plus the hot weather, millions of insects had transmitted viruses bacteria fungi etc into the open window of local residents. In some places near Kensal Green, whole streets are waiting for Brent to fulfill their duties.
A number of children had developped illnesses. Adults will be next, some already complaining of symptoms... Do we need to wait for a fatal incident to happen?
If you feel concerned about this very unhygienic way of treating theit tax-payers, do consider to write to your Council Chief Excecutive, and do speak with your neighbourgs

This is indeed an apalling situation.
I am an activist with the Slough Anti-Incinerator Network (SAIN) and since joining this campaign I have learnt a whole lot about the waste industry and relevent issues and none of it makes me too happy!
We are becoming involved in West London now because the company building the incinerator need a contract from the West London Waste Authority (WLWA) and West London will be the worst affected area due to the prevelent easterly wind. The incinerator will affect a population of roughly 5 million people and will cause an increase in cancers, heart disease, asthma, and feotal/reprouctive problems etc.
Brent council is actually one of the six boroughs that make up the WLWA (hounslow, hillingdon, ealing, harrow, brent and richmond) and we will be holding a public meeting soon in Harrow hoping to get Harrow and Brent residents active on these issues. The WLWA will be making a decision on this matter at the beginning of October so we havnt got long!
The meeting will be 7.30pm, Thursday 23rd September, at Northolt Road Hall, Northolt Road, Harrow. Speaking will be Dr Jerry Thompson and Margeret Salisidis of Richmond local Friends of the Earth. Please come along.
